Berwick Fire 3/1/2019 - Cindy - Lost Everything
Good afternoon, my name is Evelyn Suitter. I'm a 79 year old mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. I am having my son Jason start this campaign for my daughter Cindy Suitter. My heart is broken for my daughter because she's going through a very difficult time. She has lost all of her belongings in a fire at 10 Bell Street in Berwick Maine including her cat Precious who she loved more than life itself.
Firstly, I would like to offer my condolences, as well as thoughts and prayers to the family of Captain Joel Barnes of the Berwick Fire Department who gave his life trying to help others during the fire. It's always difficult to see someone lose their life while selflessly helping others in need.
For as long as I can remember, my daughter has always tried her best to come to the aid of any of her family or friends who needs help in any way. Whether it's giving her time to help someone move, letting them borrow food or clothing, or anything else she can possibly help with at any time. She is currently helping take care of her daughter, and granddaughter because her daughter has been diagnosed with a medical issue that makes life very challenging at times.
This morning, March 1st 2019, someone at my daughter's apartment complex did something to start a fire, and my daughter lost all of her belongings. Thankfully her dog made it out OK, but one cat Precious died in the fire and the other cat Max is still missing. ANY/ALL physical belongings seem to be a total loss.
She needs new beds, new furniture, new clothing, new TV/laptop, new supplies for her dog, and basically anything/everything to start over and have her life be some semblance of what it was before this happened. Her immediate concern is simply finding a new place to live as it's extremely cold here in Maine this time of the year.
If you have any extra money, and would be willing to help a person who is selfless and always tries her best to help others, then please help build this campaign so that she can try to get her life in a somewhat stable position again. Any help is appreciated very much.
