Help CH Turning to Grow!

Nearly three years ago, an ambitious request for help in making a Pinewood Derby car shaped like a Hot Dog led Caressa Hess to an accidental (but fortunate) love for woodworking. Wishing to appease the energetic wishes of her youngest son, Caressa sought the help of a family friend who assisted her in turning the Hot Dog element of the small vehicle on a wood lathe. That simple project led to another, then another, until she had become immersed in the endless options that could be created with a piece of raw wood, a few tools, and an imagination.

Since then, Caressa has developed a talent unmatched by many.  Through her passion, she has blessed the lives of many by providing uniquely special gifts for teachers, public servants, and many more.  CH Turning is a small business venture that grew from the sawdust and shavings of her shop which has continued her efforts to touch the lives of everyone she meets.  

This year, Caressa has goals to grow yet again by developing her talent through larger projects, segmented turning, and teaching the art of wood turning to local children who no longer have the option to learn such skills through their local schools.  To be successful in her efforts, she needs your help to purchase a larger, safer lathe that will provide everything that she requires.
