Christina Marsden's Memorial Fund

Christina Joy Marsden, (or Chrissy as her family and friends called her) went home to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully in her sleep with her loving husband Matt by her side, early Sunday morning,  December 3rd 2017. She was sadly only 33 years young. She was the most loving, devoted wife and mother to their beautiful son Matthew, 6. She was the most fun loving, compassionate selfless person, who always put others before herself.

Christina was struggling for 6 years with painful endometriosis, where she had to go in for multiple surgeries every few years.

During her 4th surgery into remove more of the endometriosis that was overgrowing and causing her intense pain, they discovered a neuroendocrine mass in her stomach lining  too. They stopped the surgery immediately and had to figure out further options.

May 2017 she underwent major surgery to remove the mass, uterus, and part of her colon they thought all would be well. As she was recovering in the hospital from the major surgeries, they discovered that the cancer had spread to her liver.

She was than diagnosed with Stage 4 Liver cancer. She started some chemotherapy to treat it, but it wasn't taking and further problems just kept appearing.

Christina, her husband Matt and son Matthew made plans to move as quickly home to Pennsylvania where she could receive better treatment and be near all of her family and friends. They moved home July 2017.

Christina than started treatment immediately and received multiple rounds of chemotherapy every 3 weeks. She seemed to be healing and everything was staying stable. Very rarely was she in any need to be admitted to hospitals, up until the end of October 2017.

She became weaker and unable to walk any longer, and was quickly losing weight, and no matter how hard she tried to keep fighting, this ugly disease fought more against her.

In late November 2017, she was rushed by ambulance to the ER. After a few days of fighting and trying to figure out what was going on, they discovered that the cancer was terminal and there were no other options left.

Christina chose to come home on hospice care to be more comfortable, and to spend her last few weeks with her husband, son and family.

Even her last few weeks, she never wanted to give up the fight. Her and and her loving husband contacted and  tried every option, every hospital and treatment available in Pennsylvania where unfortunately they were constantly turned down because there just were no other options that wouldn't end up causing her more pain.

They made peace with the decision and she was able to enjoy her last few weeks and every hour with her husband and son by her side and  surrounded by her entire family and closest friends.

Now after Christina's sad passing, she leaves behind her amazing husband Matt Marsden as a widow and now single father to their precious son, Matthew Marsden who is only 6 years old.

Matt needs all of the help he can get for the funeral (or as Christina wants it to be called her "Celebration of life.") and also medical expenses, and any other help as a widowed, single, struggling father. Life is expensive. Death even more so.

Matt is truly the most loving, wonderful husband, and father and has done everything to take care of his wife and son. He fought for 6 years in the Army to protect his family, nation and country. But not only just that, he is always the first person to step up and help anyone that is struggling and in need, even if its just to lend an ear to listen and just spend time.

He is a wonderful man, and going through the hardest time he will ever have to face and we need to help him back, because if anyone deserves help, he does.

Matt and Matthew are wonderful loving people who now have to live this life without their wife and mother, the glue who kept their family together.

This is going to be a long hard road, and even if you can only donate $1, every little bit counts.
Even if you can't donate, please share Christina's story, and share to help Matt and Matthew through these struggles. Hitting the share button is completely free and can spread to so many people who can see their story and possibly lend a hand in helping.

Thank you all so much in advance, and everyone who knew Chrissy, is invited if they want to come to "Christina's Celebration of Life." It will be held on Saturday, December 9th at 10am at New Life Community church in Huntingdon Valley, PA.

Christina's wishes are that this be a happy celebration of life, and to please wear bright colors (no black) to spread  happiness and joy (Just like her middle name) and to come and celebrate the beautiful, bright, shining, kind, loving, selfless person she was.
