Christian's Fight Against Leukemia

Hello friends and family. Something that no mother, father, grandmother, aunt or family member ever wants to hear about a precious loved one is that they have been diagnosed with cancer. Yesterday we got the dreadful news that our precious little baby boy of our family, my 6 yr old grandson, has been diagnosed with Leukemia. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. While away on vacation visiting his grandmother in Minnesota he became ill and was taken to the emergency room. At first they thought it was his kidneys or liver and then found the swollen lymph nodes under his arms and thought it may be Leukemia. They ran bloodwork and his hemoglobin level was at an alarming 4 which is near fatal levels and they immediately transported him to children's hospital Minneapolis and began transfusions and confirmed in fact that it was Leukemia. Our family is devastated and I cannot begin to fathom how my daughter and Christian's father are feeling at this time. Our hearts break for them and for little Christian and the road that they are going to have before them in battling this cancer.

I am asking that anyone and everyone please pray for my family and if you feel it upon your heart to donate to help the family pay for some of the costs that will be incurred and the loss of income that will happen because of the time needed for them to spend with their son, please donate. Any bit helps and you will be greatly appreciated. I know that I have amazing friends and family that at the least will be praying and offering well wishes and for that we are so very thankful. I love you all and pray that Gods will be done. Thank you so much.

Just wanted to reach out to everyone and give an update on my beautiful little grandbaby.

Christian was on a month long chemo hold due to complications and his liver unable to tolerate the chemo he was receiving. It was a bittersweet month because it allowed him to be able to have some energy and not be sick from all of the various chemos he received daily, but also a little nerve racking because of his exposure to the leukemia rearing it’s ugly head again. Praise God, his labs are back up enough for him to receive his chemo again but only at a lower dosage. He’s been reduced to 50% dosage of his daily chemo because of his intolerance and his liver unable to metabolize it, and he’s on 100% of his weekly high dose chemo. He is also back on his monthly infusions and his spinal chemo... We still have another 3 1/2 years of this treatment.

This is now life’s norm for my daughter and grandson. My grandson is the most courageous young boy and his heart is in love with Jesus. Some of the things he says absolutely blow my mind. His awareness of the possible outcome and his desire to be with Jesus in Heaven is astounding at such a young age. He is completely aware that he is filled with the Holy Spirit...I wish all could know my grandson... He could truly change your life for the better and make you realize what’s truly important.

Hi Everyone. I just wanted to reach out and give a little update and to say thank you to all who have blessed us with your love, prayers and support. Please pray that he is feeling better... He’s hardly said but a few words today. Haven’t seen him like this since the diagnosis.

This is my daughters update today... They are in the hospital right now...

Update: His anc is only 410 too so if he gets a fever even from the ARAC (one of his chemos that causes fever) he will be admitted. They aren't doing his spinal chemo today, they are postponing it to Wednesday and he will likely need more blood again later this week.

Pray for bubbs. His Hemo was very low at 5.9. The lowest it’s been since his diagnosis. They need it to be at least above 6 for anesthesia so they are going to give him half his transfusion before they try and do his spinal chemo.

This boy is just so strong. He was dancing and playing charades yesterday despite his Hemo being so incredibly low. He is surely a fighter.
He is now being premedicated with 4 different meds to keep him from having an allergic reaction to the blood and then they will start the transfusion and if he gets enough blood as quick as possible they will still do his spinal chemo. Otherwise the doctors said they will have to discuss what to do from there.

Christian Michael Manna you are too strong for your own good sometimes. Remember son, it’s ok to show some signs of weakness. Sometimes if you don’t, we won’t know when to intervene. .

God has us baby boy. Just last night you told me.... don’t forget mom if it wasn’t for my cancer you wouldn’t talk to God as much as you do and be best friends with Him like you are.

God bless you all and again, from the bottoms of our hearts, we love you and thank you for your continued love, prayers and support. ❤️

Hi Everyone. I just wanted to reach out and give a little update and to say thank you to all who have blessed us with your love, prayers and support. Here’s a current pic of my beautiful grandson little Courageous Christian ❤️ He has been in and out of the hospital, week on week off, for a very intense chemo treatment that requires him to stay in after this particular chemo is administered, until is is completely expelled from his system. While getting this chemo, he is also getting 3-5 additional chemos concurrently. He is so brave and courageous. The side affects are just awful and he handles them like a champ.

I’d also like to say that for all who have supported my daughter with donations to help her continue to be by Christian’s side (she had to stop working) while going through this heartbreaking time... You are all amazing. This situation is so stressful and mind consuming as it is, let alone worrying about how you’re going to pay your bills. I’m helping as much as I can, and with your help, she has been able to get by thus far. Now with Christmas coming she’s stressing about making sure her other babies don’t feel left out or neglected and how she’s going to get them Christmas gifts. Grandma is going to do the best that she can to make sure that doesn’t happen ❤️

God bless you all and again, from the bottoms of our hearts, we love you and thank you for your continued love, prayers and support. ❤️

GOD IS SO GOOD AND SO FAITHFUL!

Christian's 29 day results are keeping him in High Risk Protocol and he will NOT be moving to very high risk. God performed a miracle through the doctors and were able to get the Leukemia undetectable in his bone marrow. This is a true miracle as his 8 day test wasn't setting us up with much hope for this to happen.

Now the down side is that because he is still high risk he will be receiving a copious amount of Chemotherapy for a minimum of 3.5 years. He will UNFORTUNATELY have to have MANY MORE CHEMO SHOTS IN HIS LEGS. More than we would like to even post on here. We will be spending many inpatient WEEKS in the hospital just for Chemo and that is not including if he gets sick, has low numbers, or any unexpected turns of events. And there will be weeks where we will also be here daily for chemotherapies. It's completely overwhelming but we are thankful for each and every minute because that means we are closer to him being cured.

Cured means in remission without relapse for 10 years. It's going to be a long journey but I know so many blessings are going to come from this affliction. So many more people will be brought closer to God.

We are elated and joyful and so incredibly blessed by this Miracle despite how hard the next 4-10 years may be. God is so good!
