Help Chris Taylor Keep Making Music
$5,570 of $6,000 goal
My name is Chris Taylor and I'm a musician and a visual artist. In today's day and age, a musician & visual artist needs a good computer to record their music on and make prints of their artwork among other things. Recently, my computer's hard drive was fried and I lost everything on it: original music, my Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator programs and other personal photos etc.
I want to continue making music and artwork in it's many forms but now I'm starting from ground zero to build back up a "home studio" of sorts. I've made my last 5 albums from home. There's no way I could afford to record in a professional studio at hundreds of dollars per hour for each record I put out.
I've never done a crowd funded project before but now seems like the perfect time.
I'm in the process of writing for a new album and have a few musicians coming in to record their music with me before the end of the year. Something creative is always going on in my Creative Space!
If you're so inclined to be a part of my musical and artistic future, it would mean the world to me. I know how hard money is to come by for so many of us. I rely on gigs and art sales for every bit of income I make & I'm grateful to cover the bills month to month.
By doing this, you are partnering up with me to create beautiful, wild music and art for my growing TRIBE of friends and fans for years to come!
Thank you so much.

I want to thank each and every one of you who donated money, sent gifts, helped to spread the word on social media & sent me encouraging messages along the way… even up to the last hours of the last night of the campaign! I’ve got my work cut out for me now… paintings to paint, songs to record before I get them boxed up and in the mail. Check out my all-new website when you get the chance: www.christaylorworld.com for all things CT related.
I’m humbled and grateful to you all.
What I DO KNOW is that, a guy like me, with ideas and musical sketches popping into my head like a faucet you can't shut off... I need a way to continue to make my own music, at my own pace, in my own space. So instead of asking for $10-$20 thousand per record... for me... I'm asking a small amount to make music for years to come.
I'm humbled and ever so grateful to each of you who have donated small and large amounts to this campaign. I'm that guy who had too much pride to ask people for money... but in this case... you guys are getting something for it! Original pieces of artwork, personalized songs, killer prints to frame & even an exclusive download album... plus the satisfaction of knowing you're helping an artist stay alive and creative.
It's a very strange feeling on my end: Humbled. Graced-Out. Spaced-Out. Vulnerable. Silly. But without YOU - I would have no way to continue making recorded music & putting out different forms of my visual artwork. I'd like to think I offer you something special in return with my music and art...
$6000 is a lot of money to me. But it really just gets the basic stuff I need to do what it is I've been doing for my last 4 albums. One of these days I will dream even bigger and maybe you can be a part of that as well?
I'm leaving my campaign active until I reach the goal and if we can go beyond... well I will have to dream up some new rewards and other ways to show how eternally grateful I am.
We all know social media can be filled with so much negativity that... in some ways... this campaign adds a little beauty to the idea of a community coming together to meet a need, a want, a desire, a dream - oh... and a way for me to make a very simple living!
Peace to you all.
Hey Chris! Sorry if you've addressed this topic before, and I am not contacting you to try and start an argument or anything, but have you had anybody look at the hard drive that failed? If not, please contact me and let me have a chance to look at it. Data on hard drives is often recoverable, even after the drive fails. Good luck on the campaign! Loved your past music (from a LONG time ago I realize now) and am looking forward to catching up!
