Help Chris Fight Cancer

(I am creating this on behalf of my mother.) 

           Chris Messick is an amazing woman who has dedicated her life to helping others. She has three children and two grandchildren (5 and 13), but many of her sisters and her sister’s children would say she has been like a mother to them as well. She’s a beautiful, intelligent, kind and extremely hard working woman.

          In March of this year, my mother was diagnosed with an aggressive type of cancer, stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer. Because it has spread to her lymph nodes, there was speculation that it may have spread further. She underwent an MRI and the doctors confirmed that is has spread to her brain as well. Radiaton was the recommended treatment for the three spots in her brain.

          My mother continued to go to work throughout radiation, which she completed this week.  She will soon start chemotherapy, the recommended treatment for her lung cancer. She has been experiencing the sight effects of her radiation: nausea, extreme exhaustion, loss of appetite and hair loss.
