Chris Johne's Road to Recovery

Friends and family are trying to help our friend, Chris Johne. Chris has a wonderful wife, Mary Jane, and two fantastic children, Samantha, 19 and Alex, 16.
Chris’s life changed overnight recently when he was struck by a car while riding his bike in our neighbourhood on September 15th 2015. Chris is now paralysed below the neck and is in the fight of his life.
He and his family have been incredibly strong through the early part of his long road to recovery, but they need our help. Chris was not working at the time of the accident so he has no disability coverage. Mary-Jane has had to take a leave of absence from her job and is not sure when she will be able to go back to work. The financial strain on the family is incredible and adds a worry to the family that we can help alleviate with our support.
They really need our help for medical expenses, funds to help modify their house when Chris comes home to fit his requirements, and to help replace income for their family. The fundraising goal is high, but in my conversations with the family, Chris's requirements are significant and long-lasting.
From a personal perspective, I coached Chris’s son Alex in hockey for many years and I can attest that they are the most amazing people and Chris is an incredible man.
