Chris Holmes Flight Scholarship

Donation protected
Chris Holmes grew up in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan with a passion for flying.  He received his private pilot's license in 2009, his commercial rating in 2014, and his bush pilot rating in April of 2017.   When Chris became a pilot, he knew he had found his dream job.  He would fly people on tours to beautiful lakes and took some amazing photos. He also instructed float plane lessons to other pilots always taking time to finish small details.  He quickly became well respected and sought after in the aviation community.

Chris was a passenger in a float plane crash on Tyaughton Lake, British Columbia when he lost his life on August 1, 2018 at the age of 29.  Chris' passing has devastated his family, friends, colleagues and everyone who knew him.  In the face of this tragedy, we are hoping to use this fundraising campaign to make a positive contribution, something Chris did every day he was with us.

A pilot life is hard: low pay and not many hours.  The financial costs for training and gaining experience are high.  The funds from this campaign will be used to establish a memorial scholarship fund to help those from Maple Creek and Southwestern Saskatchewan follow in Chris' footsteps and realize their own dreams of flying.  100% of your generous donations will be used for this worthwhile cause in Chris' memory.
