HELP ME HELP THEM!
Women and children of the Dominican Republic are sadly lacking access to medical and dental care- recent polls rank 11% of children under the age of 5 to be malnourished; 14% of all birth weights are considered to be low as well.
I have a once in a lifetime opportunity to participate in a service learning project as part of my college curriculum. With YOUR help, I could be a part of a small group of students and professors traveling to this area. We will be providing vaccinations, medications, health screens, meal supplements, and teaching proper dental health. We will also be dedicating our time to help laboring mothers and newborn babies make a safe entrance into the world.
This area has very few medical facilities or hospitals. My team will also be traveling to surrounding rural areas in an effort to reach as many citizens as possible with basic medical care.
Help me help them! Be a part of this life saving effort! I am very excited to put my education and skills to use- to reach out and give these people the care that we all deserve. While working with the underserved population, not only will I receive credit towards my education but I will also walk away from this experience with an incredible story to tell and memories to last a lifetime!
