Chios Fire Losses Emergency Funds

AID WAS LOST IN A TERRIBLE FIRE LAST NIGHT. We need funds to help get more so that the innocent victims of it don't suffer.
Last night after strong winds and rains blew many tents into the sea, there was trouble at Souda and containers were set on fire. CESRT (Chios Eastern Shore Response Team)’s container was burnt and all aid is destroyed that was in it (see picture), many new items and donations.
So the many will now suffer from the actions of a few.
There was due to be a clothes distribution today. The kids there are frightened as it’s more violence, fire and frightening scenes.
This morning I have spoken with Toula (Pothiti Kitromilidi) who heads CESRT and we are asking for people to send aid to them and help us fundraise to buy more trousers and other aid that was lost.
Everyone is very, very upset, they have been working tirelessly day in day out not only on all the usual day to day tasks/ distributions and so on but also on 24/7 look out shifts for landings.
THIS IS WHAT YOU CAN DO STRAIGHT AWAY TO HELP:
- Send aid to them:
o TENTS – minimum 4 person and must be waterproof
o JOGGING TROUSERS – all sizes from kids to adults
(Message me on FB or at [email redacted] for the address and so we can coordinate it for them rather than them have to)
