ChildLifeUnited Puerto Rico Relief

Child Life United is requesting support for our latest relief effort, providing Child Life support to children in Puerto Rico who are experiencing symptoms of grief, trauma and loss due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria. Several months later, many parts of the island are without electricity, clean water and adequate food supplies. The toll the country has taken physically does not take into account the emotional trauma it has caused for its citizens.





Child Life United will be taking several Certified Child Life Specialists and students to Puerto Rico to work in conjunction with San Jorge Children’s Hospital to provide psychosocial and emotional support to children and families impacted by Hurricane Maria. Child Life Specialists will work together with healthcare professionals and members of the community to help children process this unexpected and devastating natural disaster and the subsequent emotions that accompany that experience- fear, anxiety and grief. Child Life United will facilitate programs in the hospital setting as well as in communities in need.






Your donations will go directly to San Jorge Children's Foundation, which supports the incredible work of San Jorge Children's Hospital in Puerto Rico. Donations will be used to facilitate psychosocial and recreational programs in the hospital and community.
