Chido Govera's Australian trip

Chido Govera is a farmer, activist, foster mother to 7 and inspiration. She lives in Zimbabwe.
Chido was orphaned when she was a very young girl and resisted pressure to be married at the age of 11.
While she was still a very young girl, looking after her young brother and grandmother, she learned to grow mushrooms. She now runs The Future of Hope Foundation, teaching women and girls to grow gourmet mushrooms from waste.
I met Chido at an event at the Opera House in 2016, MADSYD, where famous chefs from around the world - Rene Redzepi, David Chang, Massimo Botturo - talked about the future of food. Chido and I were both guests and I was inspired by her and her story and committed to bringing her back to Australia for a longer period of time, namely three weeks, to raise awareness of what she does, raise funds for the Foundation and teach Australians what she knows.
$20,000 Australian dollars would ensure that Chido could complete the building of accomodation on her farm for the women and girls who visit her for training.
$17,000 Australian dollars would fund a two-week training session for 25 women and girls which would result in 5 community food production projects.
$13,000 Australian dollars would fund a bus to take Chido's 7 foster daughters to school and allow her to provide transport for students coming to and from her training centre.
The aim for the end of Chido's visit it to have raised enough funds for these crucial projects to allow Chido and her Foundation to continue their important work.
Chido's Australian visit starts at Easter 2017 and she leaves early May. We would like to raise the funds by the end of May.
