Cheyenne's Medical Fund
Chey has had an extensive medical history stemming from a genetic disorder known as Familial Adenomatous Polyposis. She also has a seizure disorder and a vp shunt. She has already undergone multiple surgeries, traditional radiation, chemo and proton radiation for one tumor in her brain approximately 8 years ago. Cheyenne has overcome all of the problems and deficits related to that brain tumor and was doing very well until a new, dangerous tumor was discovered last November. It has quickly grown to a nearly inoperable size and is located in her skull base and c2 vertebrae of her spine. We have found a team of talented and amazing doctors including an oncologist, neurosurgeon, ENT surgeon and plastic surgeon at Cedars-Sinai and UCLA that are willing to do the time intensive and dangerous surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible.
Her surgery is scheduled for December 7th with a vertebral artery occlusion procedure to be done 2 days before. The surgery and the occlusion are very risky but at this point due to the growth and size of the tumor, we have no other options. Cheyenne will then have to go to San Diego Rady Children's Hospital for very specific proton radiation to try to completely stop and kill the remaining tumor that IS inoperable due to its location in the C2 vertebrae and spinal cord.
We decided to start this gofundme account because not only will the surgery and radiation treatments be extremely expensive but we will have to get an apartment for a few months in San Diego during her radiation. Cheyenne will have proton radiation 5 days a week. It would be too far to drive daily and cause Cheyenne a lot of pain and distress. Paul, her dad, and 3 younger sisters will be with her everyday in San Diego while I remain in LA to work. We will be maintaining two households and a full time care provider.
It is important that Cheyenne be as comfortable as possible while she undergoes these treatments, especially so close to her major brain and neck surgery and reconstruction.
We are fortunate and blessed to have a wonderful employer that has completely supported us throughout this complicated process and illness. Any and all money will go to Cheyenne: to her treatments, any medical equipment, therapies or necessities she will need to keep her as happy and pain free as possible. This is a very complicated and scary procedure. Any help, prayers and positive energy you can send will help her family and her. We deeply thank you in advance for all you help.
Cheyenne and family
We appreciate the gorgeous flowers from Cherish’s best friend Clara and her family, from my close friend, Tiffany, and my work family at Cedars-sinai. It’s beautiful to know that Chey touched so many lives beyond our own ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Our home seems empty without her physical presence but I feel her love with us everyday. We talk about her and our memories of her everyday. I don’t think there will ever be a day that goes by that we won’t say her name. We love you Chey ❤️
Cheyenne and our family have appreciated all the prayers, love and encouragement sent during the last few years as she fought hard and won battles.
Today we are devastated and heart broken that our Chey Chey is gone but so very happy for all the time we had with such a phenomenal person, a amazingly wonderful daughter and best big sister. The world is definitely darker without her light shining out upon us.
We love this little angel more than anything in the world and it’s terribly hard to say, not goodbye, but I’ll see you on the other side. We don’t know how long it will be until we join her but we will join her someday....
I’m just going to say a prayer that you may be feeling as a family right now, “Dear LORD , please give our precious Cheyenne a break!!! Lord we pray it’s your will to let this be a temporary sign of things to be cognizant of and thank you for the forewarning before Cheyenne’s procedures. But now, dear LORD, please let her have some positive outcomes, responses and feelings of HOPE! In JESUS name we pray this AMEN!”
Dearest Amy, You are one of the strongest women I know. God has given you precious time with your daughter. I believe you have been a wonderful mother and friend to your daughter. Praise God for all the days you've had with your daughter and the days to come. I couldn't imagine all the emotion you are going through. I hurt for you. Right now, your daughter is here and she knows that you are going to be by her side, and her daddy too. You are a fighter and I know that's where Chey gets from. He knows what you are going through. He's God of all comfort. Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. God is looking down on Chey and you and your family and He knows your name. In Isaiah 43: 1&2, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. 2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. I know this when you are going through the moment it's hard to see comfort or any good in the matter, but, it's okay to hurt, it's okay to cry, it's okay to feel all the emotions, anger, confusion, etc. You and your family are loved, you are precious in God's eyes. In John 11:3b “Lord, the one you love (Cheyanne) is sick.”, although it's talking about Lazarus, it's also is for Cheyanne. God is taking care of your daughter, and God has you, your husband and her siblings in her life because He knew you all would be faithful to God to help Cheyanne through this matter. I wish I could the pain all away, but you are doing so good, so much better than I would. In His love, Tracy.
We've been praying for you guys every day, and of course will continue to do so. You're all so strong and loving. My daughter came home the other day with her hair in a braid and she looked just like Chey to me. Please Lord, bring peace, joy and good health to this family who have captured the hearts of so many strangers. Amen.
