Cheryl's Funeral & Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Cheryl, or Cheri as she was known to many, lived her life for others. She was always attending events to celebrate our lives, baking for us, working hard, and doing it all with a smile and an infectious laugh.

Without fully knowing it, Cheryl has been a part of my life from day one - my mom was lucky enough to call Cheryl her best friend. Sarah, Cheryl's daughter, and I are close in age, and we lived near each other for the early parts of our lives.

I can recall family dinners with our parents, lots of playtime - and I will never forget that Sarah had one of those cool bouncy horses.

As I got older, Cheryl and Sarah stayed in our lives, and became an extended part of our family. We had many a sleepover, often watching the Indiana Lottery and sometimes episodes of "Mama's Family". I always admired Cheryl's red nails, and loved flipping through old issues of the Mary Kay catalog on her living room floor.

One summer, Cheryl took Sarah and I on a trip that changed my life - to South Carolina. We went to the market where the sweet grass baskets were made, hunted for the best shells on the beach, and ditched our sunless tanner for the real thing. It opened my eyes to the world, and gave me the courage many years later to move away for college.

Cheryl was the greatest! To me, she was the bright light in a room of darkness. A road trip filled with John Mellencamp and The Eagles. She was a friend to listen, and model of strength.

So much so, that I often forget she was also fighting a battle with Crohn's disease. That is what eventually took her from us on February 14, 2017.

The loss of our friend, our family member - a mom, a wife, a coworker - has been difficult on all of the (many) lives she touched.

Because this emotional loss is so difficult, I am asking for financial donations in order to help Cheryl's immediate family cover her funeral expenses and some of her remaining medical costs. Any donation will help Cheryl's legacy; and will mean one less thing her family has to worry about.
