Giving back to help others !

Help a new pup grow into a service therapy dog career!
Have you ever felt very blessed, and just want to be able to pay it forward in a special way?  I have, and want to be able to serve it back to others.  I would like to pay it back in honor of my beloved Hunter and hope to help others.

It is so very hard for me to ask for help, but I have learned that to receive help is to receive caring .  Several years ago, I suffered a stroke.  Just out of the blue, in good health and early in age!  It scared me to death, even though I knew I was fortunate to be able to walk and talk and dress myself.  But I was so afraid it would happen again and would be worse yet.  My best friend ever, Hunter, the golden boy retriever - he got me going again.  Walking, even going outside I was so afraid taking him for walks, then eventually I began leaving my emergency panic phone behind! Slowly we walked over 3 miles a day. By that time we both knew that I was going to be okay.  We were both going to be okay, and he was the one that got me going again.  This beautiful, loving boy was the best therapy anyone could have ever wished for.  He would have been such an excellent therapy dog for others too.  He loved everyone along our way, and they loved him back too!  I often thought of him doing this, but time and years move on and I lost my boy just this Spring.  He was 13 1/2 years old, and gave me his best and all.  I was broken hearted.  Then very shortly after, I suffered an accident in a deck collapse, and broke both of my feet.  Ohhh, did I ever need my boy.
I just had one cast removed, and the other foot in surgery.  In a wheelchair for 2 1/2 months, but healing thank goodness.  I knew that I would get another pup, but this time I for sure wanted to be able to pay my good care back to others.  Just this week I was able to stand up!   And again out of the blue, came the opportunity for this great puppy by sheer lucky circumstance!  He is a Golden Doodle, bred excellent for training and serving as a therapy dog to children, hospitals, seniors, survivors of loss, and other.  His name will be Tucker and he will be trained along with me to do just these things for others.  We are to start immediately working in a Church school and train to move on to the local children's hospital.  From there we will go to major hospitals and crisis centers (so many in our area) to bring hope and comfort to all that we can.
My own recovery from this accident, and the expenses are quite crippling in themselves.  But I am determined that Tucker and I will get strong and we will help others do and feel the same, just by his loving presence and comfort to all.

I want to give back and wish to help others as my Hunter helped me.  Would you like to give back and help too?  This fund will provide for bringing Tucker home and for his training as a therapy dog.  I so hope this is a care in which you might consider helping.  We will do all the work, and you can do the caring to the best or least that you can.

Thank you from me and my pups, old and new, and the hearts and health that we might help along the way.
