Chennai Rain Relief - PDX

Hi Friends,
Many of you are looking to contribute and help with the Chennai rain relief. There are many avenues and causes to support. So anything you do is awesome. Some of you wish to see exactly where and how your funds are being used. If so, you are at the right place. We are going to keep this pretty simple and straightforward.
Currently we are focusing on providing blankets. This was identified as an immediate need by several volunteers that are in the thick of it. Given the logistical challenges, we have quickly learnt that it is important to focus on specific things to gain efficiency. Many organizations are helping with food. We are focusing on clothing items.
Every $100 helps to provide blankets for 40 people to have a peaceful night of sleep!
And we have more than a mllion people to support!
The funds collected here will be regularly sent to the following two trusts that my parents run or support.
1. EssVee Trust (www.essvee.org) – This is run by my parents for over 15 years now. They are currently operating relief activities in Chennai & Cuddalore.
2. Sai Priya Banduthva Trust – They are a trusted group, carrying out relief work in Chennai and in Kosavampet village near Periyapalayam.
Sincere thanks to many of you for pouring in your contributions through PayPal, Google Wallet, Bill Pay etc and help raise close to $3500. This page is created to make it even simpler for people to contribute and see updates on the activities that your funds are driving.
