Xiaoyi Chen is currently a graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin. She and her family are facing a disastrous situation due to a severe car accident that happened during Christmas week. It was the first visit for her mom, dad, grandma and boyfriend—all coming from China, and she planned to spend family time after not seeing them for a long time. The tragedy happened on 12/26/2018 while she was driving and making a U-turn at a local route in Panguitch, Utah when a car hit them badly from the back. Her grandma passed away after the hospital rescue. Her mom and dad are now in hospital battling for their life. Even after several surgical operations, they are still in critical conditions: unconscious and with multiple bone fractures around their entire bodies. Doctors say that they have to go through numerous surgeries and very complicated procedures. [As of today, after several weeks of rescue and treatment, her father's situation has been relatively stable: the left side of the body is paralyzed and he is undergoing rehabilitation treatment in the hospital. Her mother has been infected due to repeated infections and new findings of mandibular fractures. After five operations she is still in the ICU. ]
Ms. Chen is very underprivileged and is the single child of the family. She is a great, kind, and selfless student who worked hard to come to America for a better education so she can provide a better life for her family. She never expected this turn in her life.
Ms. Chen's family comes from Shanxi and does not have US Health Insurance. As she is in her 2nd year of study at UT-Austin, she has very little financial aid. As members of our Chinese community, we believe it is our responsibility to help Chen with financial assistance and help her family in these difficult times. We appreciate if you can chip in to help her cause.
Money raised will be used for the following:
1. Cost of her grandma's funeral
2. Rehabilitation expenses of her mother and father if needed
3. Temporary living cost as she won't be able to get any funds from her school for at least 6 months to 1 year.

陈女士家境清寒，是这个家庭的独生子女。她是一位善良，无私的好学生。她努力学习工作，来到美国接受更好的教育，这样她就可以为家人提供更好的生活。她从未想到过这种人生的逆转。陈的家人来自山西，没有美国健康保险。由于她在UT-Austin的第二年博士研究学习，她的经济援助很少。作为我们华人社区的成员，我们相信在这些困难时期帮助她获得经济援助并帮助家人是我们华人社区的责任。如果你能帮助她做事，我们表示衷心的感谢。 筹集的资金将用于以下方面：
