Gohl Program - CRPS & Chronic Pain

Donation protected
My daughter sprained her right ankle and fell onto her left knee on March 19, 2016. She was unable to walk because of her injuries and within weeks of her fall, her right knee started to turn red and hot. We took her to multiple doctors who could not diagnose her and one doctor even said there was nothing wrong with her.

A couple of weeks later, her left knee started turning red and hot and the pain in both of her legs was unbearable. Her legs broke out in rashes and the heat, rashes, redness, pain, and swelling traveled down both legs and to her feet. She has been in a wheelchair since early April and has been unable to take care of herself. It's disheartening as a parent to see your child go from being a normal college student to someone with a handicap bathroom and a wheelchair.

In July of this year she was diagnosed with CRPS and we were told there was no cure and that she needed to start working with pain management doctors, but she refused to give up.

In August I took her to Tennessee to work with the Gohl Program after hearing about their successes in working with CRPS patients. Within two days she was able to walk and she can now walk on her own, a few minutes at a time. They started her on her healing process, but she needs one more round of treatments.

We're raising funds for the Gohl Program to come to Oklahoma and then on to other states across the U.S. We don't want to stop with our state. We want the program to grow and to help others like my daughter.

The Gohl Program helps people who suffer from CRPS/RSD and other chronic pain. Through manual ligament therapy, they can assist with mobility issues and pain throughout the body. The treatment is non-invasive, natural, and requires no medication.

There are people like my daughter who need the program, but with all of their medical expenses, they can't afford it. So we're asking you to sponsor CRPS and chronic pain patients in the program.

Also, please read my daughter's first-hand account of how the Gohl Program helped her to walk again and watch her story come to life in the video.

For every $1 we raise, one more person has a chance to start their journey of healing, like my daughter Chelsi.

This is what she had to say about the Gohl Program:

"I want to share some more information about how the Gohl Program changed my life because they want to come to Oklahoma next month, but only if four more people sign up. As many of you have heard already from my mom, I have CRPS which is supposed to be an incurable condition which causes daily pain that ranks the highest on the pain scale. Since a couple weeks after my original injuries, which started the CRPS, I have refused to take pain medicine. Even when I took very mild pain medicine which was about what a child would take and is actually still very strong for me, I was still in pain. I didn’t like being extra tired for no reason and learned that I felt better just dealing with the pain on my own. My family doctor started me on anti-seizure meds after the very long process we went through to find out what was wrong with me and I didn’t even take the full amount he wanted me to build up to. When I was sent to a rheumatologist that was supposed to know about CRPS, I realized very quickly that he knew nothing about it. I still followed his recommendation of taking the full dose of the medicines that my regular doctor wanted me to take and became so sick that I nearly ended up in the hospital. We tried to find a doctor in Oklahoma that would know something about CRPS and there were only pain management doctors. I was not interested in taking more medicine or having back injections and the other horrors I was told I needed. Eventually my mom came across a video for the Gohl Program and soon after she found their contact information and was on the phone with them. She put them on speaker so I could hear too and after listening to Monica Depriest and Dr. Glaser I felt extremely hopeful for the first time since my diagnosis that my mom had found the right treatment for me.

The following week I was in Tennessee for 5 days of treatment. I was very nervous at first because I don’t like new doctor experiences and not knowing what’s going to happen. Once I met Monica, her daughter Haley, and Arik Gohl, the creator of MLT, I immediately felt my anxiety go down a lot. I was even more amazed to feel my pain level drop big time not long after Arik started the MLT on me. There was nothing scary or uncomfortable about it. It’s actually very relaxing and it feels amazing to have less pain so quickly and to experience more relief than I’d had the whole time dealing with CRPS. I was ready to shred my painful compression hose because my legs felt that different after one treatment and I knew I wouldn’t need them anymore. The second day I did something I didn’t think I’d be able to do for a long time and with Arik’s coaching and MLT I stood up and took my first steps in months. When your abilities are as limited as mine were even small things like being able to stand on my own felt huge. Each day I was there I walked further and did more. I regained the ability to go to the bathroom by myself. I got where I could walk almost the whole length of the hotel. The last day I even went up and down stairs just holding onto a rail for balance. My pain would get down to almost nothing. The color on my legs changed dramatically and my skin even looked normal at times. I’m so fair skinned that we could see my circulation waking up and my legs coming back to life. Not only did I receive treatment from Arik Gohl but I also was able to meet Dr. Glaser and Dr. Forbes. Dr. Glaser made a pair of orthotics for me that were created from molds he took of my feet and with those I felt like I could walk further and faster with better balance and more confidence in my legs and feet. Meeting with Dr. Forbes was also a life-changing experience. With his help I learned the unhealthy ways that I deal with emotions have a big impact on my health and CRPS. With the three of them helping me together I really felt like I was fixing all my problems. It ended up being really hard to say goodbye to the whole team and to Tennessee because I was helped so hugely there.

Even now that I’m home I still have good things happen all the time because of what happened there. Arik taught me how to stretch and when I’m really in the thick of the pain it helps me relax and take the focus off the bad areas. Because of Dr. Forbes’s advice, I went off grains for a week and have still cut way down on them so that my body can heal. I also work on meditation, which is very relaxing and is helping with my inner issues. Even the things I’ve been able to do since I’ve been home have given me a lot more freedom. I can get up and walk to another room when I need or want to. I still go to the bathroom with no help or crutches. I’m working on carrying things while I walk and can now carry small things with me with no problems. I get down on the floor and up by myself because Arik taught me how to do it safely. I can do it multiple times a day to do my stretches. Every time my dog Abe Lincoln sees me get up on my own to walk to another room or get on the floor he still gets very excited. He used to stay close to me at all times when I was using a wheelchair in the house and he’d get upset when I’d go to another room without him, so it’s even changing his life and made him happier too!

I still need more time with the Gohl Program to get healed, but even though I still hurt and struggle sometimes and can’t walk very far yet, it was still SO worth the time and money to go through the program. Since I have pain which can get higher than any other pain measured, and MLT can take it down to almost nothing, I’m sure any of you with chronic pain like me would be helped by the program too. If I didn’t have the CRPS in both legs, feet, and my tailbone/bum area, then I probably wouldn’t need extra treatments, but since mine is so advanced and in multiple areas, I do. I will never again have to consider the horrible treatments and medications that others with CRPS have gone through because I know the Gohl Program will heal me. I don’t even have to worry anymore about the possibility of this being incurable or a life-long condition.

If you are interested in getting rid of your pain too or getting more freedom of movement, then contact the Gohl Program before the last four spots for their Oklahoma clinic are taken and do something which actually fixes the problem instead of masks it!"

Please donate and share. Every dollar counts and gives hope to those who suffer from chronic pain and all money is given directly to the Gohl Program for their scholarship fund.

Thank you!!
