Please help us "Cheer For Grampy"...

Last Thursday, January 10th,  our cherished Mark was diagnosed with lung cancer. Mark, who also goes by Soupy, Marky, Dad, and is most fondly called Grampy by his grandchildren has one great wish...

To go see a Toronto Maple Leafs game with his grandchildren and his family.

This fundraising campaign is to help provide four generations; his parents, Mark and Heather's children and grandchildren, along with other family members one instantaneous amazing memory they can hold on to for the present and into forever.

Time is of the essence, and as we all know it's uncertain. The game they are aiming to see is this Sunday's January 20th game - Toronto vs Arizona.

Tickets to Toronto Maple Leaf games are hard to come by, especially for a large group, and do have cost associated with them. The best option is to secure a "box" or suite... so that is the goal - This way the collective family will be able to CHEER FOR GRAMPY and CHEER WITH GRAMPY all together.

Mark is being steadfastly cared for by his wife Heather, children Billi and Scott and their families. Here is Mark's testament to the diagnosis from social media:

"Last Thursday I was diagnosed with lung cancer. I will be in great care especially with Heather and my family by my side. So feel free to be by my side too, we can always think about all the beauty in our lives; the lives we all have. I still am a good audience for laughs. In other moments we can pray, a cheerful peaceful prayer. It’s also ok to feel sad and be comforted through connection and prayer.

I may have weakness inside of me, but I am strong.
I am ready and prepared for a journey that I know I won’t be alone on as I have many loves who will travel this unexpected journey alongside me and we will continue to hold each other close.
I like hugs, many gentle hugs."

So often patients and their families miss out on opportunities to live out a heart’s desire as they wait for answers and by the time those answers come, their Loved One is too weak or unwell to participate. The time is now to help make this happen for Grampy and his family.

Please "Cheer for Grampy" and consider giving towards his wish.

Cheer For Grampy!

The hearts of our family are full of gratitude for the support, compassion, and generosity that friends, family, and community are sharing with us during this difficult time.

Mark, Heather, Billi, Stephen, Scott and Anastasia are so grateful and amazed by the GoFundMe campaign. Thanks to the many generous donations, there will be loud cheers on Sunday as Mark’s wish has been fulfilled!

Through the encouragement of community members, we have nudged the goal of the campaign in order to support two local charities that are near and dear to Mark and Heather’s hearts - The PECM Hospital Foundation and Hospice Prince Edward - two vital components of our community.

Mark’s wish is for continued support of these organizations. At his request we are keeping the campaign open so that these charities can benefit from your generosity.

Thank you for Cheering For Grampy!
