On Saturday December 2nd my sweet 12 year old nephew, Chase Otteson, his brother Hunter 13, and their friend Nate, also 12 years old, were all injured in a tragic fire accident. Chase and his friend Nate were burned badly. Chase is burned over 40% of his body. As of right now he is heavily sedated and in ICU and is fighting for his life. His road to recovery is going to be very very long. He is expected to be in the burn unit once out of ICU for well over a month and will need numerous surgeries. Right now his blood pressure is stable, his temperature has came down a bit, and his white blood count is not showing any signs of infection. But we all know that this can change in an instance with burn victims. These next few days will be the toughest as we really do not know the extent of his injuries as of yet. Please pray for my sweet nephew. Chase enjoys playing sports, hunting, camping, mining with his dad, and overall is a very active little boy. He is a very kind hearted, thoughtful, and loving. He always has a smile on his face and something thoughtful and funny to say. He is the middle child of three boys. He is so loved by all of his family. We are all praying that he pulls through and makes a strong recovery. This fund will help assist in the massive amounts of medical bills that will be coming in as well as future medical surgeries and therapy he will need and any financial obligations that come about while Trenton is out of work. Thank you for reading this and please say a prayer for him.

Hi everyone this is Tandi, Trenton’s sister. I have been the one posting updates on Chase and I wanted to share a couple things with you all following Chases recovery. We are far from being “out of the woods” with Chase. Although some of the updates may sound like he is doing good, in which he is, they are such small baby steps. With your help, we've raised a little over $43,000, but we were informed today that just his life flight to the hospital plus the deductible will eat up an enormous amount of the money already made through go fund me. This does not include almost a whole month in ICU and now the burn unit. Trenton has been at the hospital every single day with Chase and hasn’t been able to do any mining which helps to support the family with everyday financial obligations, and they are beginning to feel the strain. I do want to Thank everyone for all of the love and support that has been given so far and for all of the fundraisers and such taking place on the boys behalf. We are so very grateful for everything and so thankful for such amazing people in our lives and all across the nation. Please share this again and again, and get this out there, and please keep Chase and his family in your thoughts and prayers. We love you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Update on Chase: Chase just got out of surgery and everything went well, however there was a lot more grafting that had to be done then they or originally expected. Surgery lasted nearly three hours long, and doctor chestovich said that it took longer because there was fibrosis myosin (the beginning of heavy scar tissue) starting to develop and it needed to be scraped and cleaned on portions of the chest cavity wall, upper axilla, under the armpit, left bicep and lower wrist. Because of the fibrous myosin in these areas he determined that this was necessary to have grafting done immediately. In total Chase had 1092 square centimeters of grafting done during tonight's procedure. Doctor chestovich thinks that everything went really well. The next couple days maybe a tougher recovery than we had originally expected but at least we should be over the hump. We ask that everybody pray that chase can heal without any complications.

Chase update: the decision to do a skin graft on Chase’s left armpit area was made today. It’s just not healing as fast as the Dr.’s would like. Chase is going to have a skin graft put on his left armpit area tomorrow evening not sure what time yet. Thank you for all of your thoughts, prayers, donations, time, texts, cards, and so much more. We love you all!!!
