Chase's Army - one boy's fight to beat leukaemia

Donation protected
On the 16th of December 2018, nine days before Christmas, a four year old boys life changed forever.

Our beautiful, crazy, energetic Chase was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with childhood Leukaemia. No parent should ever have to hear those words and no child should ever have to live this life.

Chase was immediately transferred by private plane to the Queensland Children’s Hospital and has already started his chemotherapy treatment. He will continue this treatment for the next 6 months (at least), with very little break in between each treatment. The leukaemia he was diagnosed with, Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, is a very aggressive type of blood cancer and treatment needs to be intense and swift. In the space of four days, he has endured countless blood transfusions, surgery to perform a bone marrow aspiration to extract the first of many bone marrow samples, a lumbar puncture, a permanent central line placed for future chemo, his first shot of chemo straight into his spinal fluid and in the past 24 hours; his first two chemotherapy treatments. This little Warrior only turned four years old last month. He was meant to be starting at a big boy’s school next year. He is meant to be living the life of a little boy, not a life of isolation and chemotherapy.

Prue, Jamie and Jacob (their 4 month old baby) have moved to Brisbane to be with Chase, nearly 15 hours drive away from their home in North Queensland and it is unsure when they will be able to return home. It could be years before they can bring our Warrior back.

To say this has rocked our family and friends to its core is an understatement and we have been inundated with messages on how to help. Family and friends have some big plans for the future, as this will be a very, very long road to recovery. We could only imagine how heartbreaking this must be for Chase and his parents and little brother, so we want to make this journey as smooth as possible for them. We want to ensure that they don’t need to worry about money. They need to focus on fighting for Chase’s life and raising Jacob in a loving “home away from home”.

We understand that Christmas time can be a financially tough time for many people, but we also know that the gift of giving is strong at this time of year. If anyone would like to help, please consider donating to this go fund me page. Please share far and wide on social media. To follow Chase’s journey on Facebook, go to Chase Aml (WarriorChase) or for Instagram, go to chase_aml.

We have a dream of making this fundraiser go viral!! So please help; share, share, share!!!

Please also consider donating blood and plasma, not just now, but as a regular practice. There are many other children out there in need of help. What would have happened to Chase if he couldn’t access donated blood?

Love Chase's Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, Cousins and friends.

Please note: We have sought permission from both of Chase’s parents, Prue and Jamie, to start this go fund me page on Chase's behalf. They would like you all to know that any money raised will only be accessed once all of their resources have been exhausted and any monies left over will be donated to the amazing charities that have helped them on this journey and/or put towards Chase’s future.
