Emergency Relief Needed: Oak Ridge Fire – Navajo Nation
Yee Ha’ólníi Doo DBA Navajo & Hopi Families Covid-19 Relief Fund, an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a proven track record of delivering over $12 million dollars worth of direct relief to Navajo and Hopi people during the pandemic, is raising funds to provide emergency relief to Navajo families and communities impacted by the Oak Ridge Fire - an unfortunate climate change disaster that threatens to do irreparable harm to some of the most beautiful forested homelands that our people have lived in and loved since time immemorial.
As of 7/1/2025 the Oak Ridge Fire on the Navajo Nation has burned 9,887 acres and has 0% containment. Over 350 individuals have been displaced by the fire and are now sheltering at:
Window Rock Sports Event Center
Ft. Defiance Chapter House
Ganado Chapter House
Klagetoh Chapter House
Your donation will make a huge impact in helping our impacted relatives endure this heartbreaking tragedy with compassion and much-needed direct relief. Namely, there is an urgent need for food, water, hay, daily living supplies, and public health resources.
Yee Ha’ólníi Doo has the staff, vehicles, and proven ability to deploy resources immediately to those most in need. Please donate today.
Any remaining funds will be invested in community-led programs in the impacted communities that will help those communities rebuild from the devastation left from the fire and will be invested in broader climate change resilience on the Navajo Nation.
Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to a future where our communities are stronger, healthier, and more climate change resilient.
Please join us in putting dollars where they're most needed, and in supporting community work. Together, we can create lasting change.
