About Wpi Firemens Fund (Wpiff)
WPI Firefighters' Fund, founded in 1999, came into being after the loss of three commissioned firefighters responding on a volunteer basis to a neighboring community. Their families were denied benefits by the City they served as commissioned firefighters. Their families were left to battle a large municipality, and after two years their rights to these benefits were restored. Our mission is to aid these families that find themselves with little support after such a tragedy, and to better equip our severely underfunded volunteer departments. WPIFF strives to assist the firefighting community that protects our families, homes, and communities.
