South Carolina's Coastline Crisis. Act Now to Fund Cleanup
Hello, we are Wounded Nature–Working Veterans, a national non-profit organization dedicated to restoring our coastal ecosystems by removing debris from remote areas that are often out of reach.
With the help of volunteer boaters and veterans, we are working to improve the quality and quantity of domestic fish, shrimp, and shellfish stocks—vital to both our environment and local communities.

As you read this, South Carolina’s coastal areas are littered with abandoned boats, tires, and treated wood, much of it hidden behind marsh grasses and shrubs, silently damaging the ecosystem.
These areas are costly and difficult to access, requiring extensive logistics and planning to transport our volunteers and the debris back to a landing.
THE GOOD NEWS? WE CAN ALL STILL HELP AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
We have already removed 201 abandoned boats, hundreds of tires, and dumpsters full of debris.
Now, we are just $5 million away from completing our mission of removing all the large debris items and abandoned boats along South Carolina’s coastline.
Achieving this would make South Carolina the first saltwater coastal state from New York down to have all major debris cleared—a monumental achievement.
WITH YOUR DONATION, WE WILL:
- The average cost to remove a boat or large debris item is just $1.00 per pound.
- Whether it’s a barge, sailboat, shrimp boat, or cabin cruiser, your donation will help us remove these obstacles from our critical coastal habitats.
- Every donation brings us closer to cleaner, safer waterways for both wildlife and the communities that rely on them.
- By supporting Wounded Nature–Working Veterans, you are helping us restore South Carolina’s coast and protect its marine life.
- Your contribution will directly fund the transportation and manpower necessary to access these hidden areas and remove the debris that is damaging our precious environment.
