LET’S REBUILD HOPE FOR THE CHILDREN OF QUI-CROIT, HAITI
AN URGENT PLEA FOR HELP
On February 1, 2025, armed gangs stormed Qui-Croit, brutally taking the lives of innocent people—including children.
Nearly 600 students—from Kindergarten to 9th grade—were forced to flee their homes and school. Many are now orphans, homeless and hungry.
Their families—small-scale farmers with very little to begin with—lost everything: their goods, land, and clothes. Some homes were burned to the ground.
For two months, these gangs have occupied the school. The very place that once gave these children hope for a future. But we will not let hope die.
MORE THAN A PERSONAL MISSION
I know what this school means to these children because I was one of them.
In that school, I was given a chance to learn and to dream—the dream of becoming something that the world around me, my circumstances, and the odds all deemed impossible. Growing up in Qui-Croit and becoming a licensed physician in both Haiti and the United States take an extraordinary leap. But I made that leap. For the past twelve years, I have stood beside these children, giving them the same hope that once carried me forward. I have been helping them to believe in themselves just as others once believed in me.
This past October, I spoke to a crowd of 500 students in that school, reminding them, “If I could do it, you can do it too.” We discussed the importance of education in the lives of children worldwide, particularly in Haiti. We sang songs of FREEDOM and HOPE.
But now, their voices have been silenced by fear.
IMAGINE THIS…
Can you imagine feeling powerless to the point that the children you love—your children—lose everything but you can’t do anything about it?
Can you imagine a school full of dreams turned into a battleground?
Today, these children are scattered. Most of them are separated from their families, living with strangers and fed by good samaritans.
Yet despite their trauma, they still cling to one thing: the hope of returning to school.
And we can make that happen.
WE HAVE A PLAN—BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP
Our nonprofit, Words In Action Haiti (WIA) (501c3), has partnered with God’s Littlest Angels (GLA) to secure a safe space where these children can continue their education.
But right now, it’s just an empty shell.
WE MUST PROVIDE—IMMEDIATELY
• Classroom Essentials & School Supplies: Desks, chalkboards, uniforms (for safety & identification), notebooks, pencils, backpacks—everything a child needs to learn.
• At least 1 Meal Daily: This way, they can focus on learning, not hunger.
•
HOW YOU CAN HELP
$35 → Provides school supplies & a uniform for one child
$50 → Ensures a child has meals and learning materials for a month
$100 → Provides food, clothes, shoes, and books
Larger Donations → Help us rebuild the old school, plan for the next school year, and feed elderly & desperate families.
100% of your donation goes directly to the children. We will provide monthly updates so you can see your impact.
WHY THIS MATTERS MORE THAN EVER
At a time when the world faces a crisis of empathy—and when Haitian politicians turn a blind eye to their own people’s suffering—it is up to us to be the voice of the voiceless.
These children have already lost so much.
Let’s not let them lose their future, too.
DONATE NOW
Every dollar counts.
If you can’t donate, please share this campaign. Someone in your network might be the reason a child returns to school.
Together, let’s show these children they are not forgotten. Their future is worth fighting for.
Donate. Share. Be the hope they need.
