New Beginnings Park
Hey! My name is Alyssa Koenig and I’m the proprietor of Woodbridge High School's “Give A Paw” club. We help raise donations and awareness for animals in need of a happy home. Woodbridge Animal Shelter is a non-kill shelter, and they’re always determined and dedicated towards every animal and making sure they get a good home. Even if an animal isn’t adopted, they make sure to give them the best home at their shelter.
3 1/2 years ago a very special girl named Lucy was rescued. Lucy was rescued from her life on a chain where she constantly produced litter for a dog fighter. She was gorgeous and kind hearted, unfortunately she was never a candidate for adoption due to her behavioral issues. However, for the shelter she proved to be a very tender hearted and lovable pup. Though she was kenneled for so long, she was shown kindness and compassion which she’s never experienced before. She was always snuggled up in blankets, or going on walks, playtime was always (though she preferred snuggling up on a nice lap much more). Lucy even had a custom spoon because she had an adorable addiction to peanut butter. She just passed of cancer last year and though you may not see it, Lucy had a forever home and she even had a family. Though she’s passed on, we’d like to re-model Woodbridge Animal Shelters play yard and dedicate the park to Lucy. She was given a home, even if it wasn’t the one she expected. We’d like to make sure her puppy pals have a beautiful yard to make memories with, and make them feel at home just like Woodbridge Animal Shelter did with Lucy. Not only will it provide paw-some fun for the animals, but it’d draw more people towards the shelter when they see some happy wagging pups having fun! To new paw-sibilities, and new beginnings. We’d like to name it “New Beginnings Park”.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
