I’m running three races this year; the International Women’s Day 10K, Hackney Half, and the Saucony London 10K, to raise funds for Women’s Aid. As someone who runs regularly, this challenge is about more than finishing; it’s about pushing for new personal bests and showing what steady determination can do. Women’s Aid provides crucial support for those facing domestic abuse, and I’m proud to run in solidarity with their work and the women they empower.

Hello!

On March 19, I’ll be taking on a Triple Everest stair challenge(1) in support of domestic violence charities(2) that work to support survivors and prevent abuse. The challenge involves repeatedly ascending and descending the same set of stairs at home until the total elevation gain equals climbing Mount Everest three times.

I’ve chosen this challenge very deliberately. It’s repetitive, contained to the home, and mundane: the same movement, in the same place, for a long time. Domestic abuse is often bound up with ordinary domestic settings and long-running patterns rather than singular, visible events, and this felt like a quiet way to mark that, while keeping the focus on fundraising and awareness.

Beyond its obvious importance, this cause also connects to questions I’ve spent a long time thinking about: how care and caring roles are organised in society, and how the home has historically been treated as a private realm, shielded from public scrutiny, even when what happens there has profound social consequences.

(1) My primary goal is to complete three Everests. If my body doesn’t allow that over the days, I’ll scale the challenge down in stages: secondary goal as two Everests, tertiary goal of a single Everest.

(2) I’m fundraising for two charities in line with where I’ve lived most of my life. For Australia, I’m fundraising for White Ribbon Australia, and for the UK I’m fundraising for Women’s Aid UK.

In April 2026 I will be running the London Marathon in memory of my best friend, Ledean.

I feel so honoured to have had Ledean as such a special part of my life. She had the most contagious smile that could light up any room, and was one of the kindest, most generous souls you could ever wish to meet. Always showing up and looking out for others, a trait I endeavour to carry on in her memory.

Deany had a heart of gold, and I know helping others is how she would wish for her legacy to be carried on. I am making it my mission to raise money and awareness for charities helping women who are in need of a lifeline, starting with this marathon for Women’s Aid.

I’m Jess. A mum. A survivor. And now… I’m training for a marathon.

Just a few years ago, I couldn’t have imagined this. I was trapped in a controlling, emotionally abusive relationship. I lost my voice, my confidence, and almost everything that made me me. Leaving was the hardest thing I’ve ever done but it was also the beginning of finding myself again.

This marathon is so much more than a race. It’s a journey of healing of proving to myself and to other women that we are not what happened to us. We are what we choose to become after.

I’m running every mile for Women’s Aid, because they stand beside women at their most broken and help them rebuild. They offer safety, support, and hope when it feels like there’s none left. I wish I’d reached out sooner. I wish I’d known that I wasn’t alone.

Now I want to be a voice for those still living in silence. I want to turn pain into purpose not just for me, but for every woman still waiting for her chance to be free.

Hi we are Lily and Alice and this winter we are running to support the charity women’s aid. They have recently released a campaign called every child deserves a safe home. We believe this is a major issue in our country so we will be running to raise money and awareness to this issue.Any amount of donations is appreciated as it is helping children everyday!

Will You Stand With Ms Vassell in making a difference?

Ms Vassell is Raising Money to Bring awareness to a on-going issue, not spoken as about often as it should. Ms Vassell aims to directly help fund Womens Aid development to undergo extensive protocols to provide the correct Professional Support to those Women and Girls unable to speak up for themselves. But How? By Looking at Holistic Ways to Prevent Women and Girls from experiencing domestic abuse in all its forms. Educating Women and Girls on the first signs. Ms Vassell aims to create Anti Misoginistic progammes for Allys, (Men and Boys) to bring a stop to violence and silent witnesses. The Money We Raise Here will Provide a Safe Space for Women and Girls to speak up. Get Educated on spotting the first Signs of Domestic Abuse, Grooming of Girls and Financial Manipulation. Aswell as aiming to target the issues head on for Women/girls at a professional level, Ms Vassell has aims to bring justice to victims still suffering from the hold of those perpetrators. Its time to put a stop to Misogyny and domestic Abusers. We cannot do this alone. We need all of your support. With the Money that Ms Vassell raises here we will make sure Extra research and prevention programmes are in place. Any donation will help make an impact for Women and Girls being placed in situations robbing them of there financial freedom, education, Womanhood and autonomy.

I am doing a skydive to raise money for 'Women's Aid' , this is a charity who help victims of domestic violence who have fled their abusers with nothing.

When i fled, i fled with nothing, i had all my clothes and belongings destroyed and i had to start again with absolutely nothing.

Nearly a year later and through hard work and dedication i am now comfortably living and i worked 12 hour shifts most days to be able to buy everything myself again.

A lot of people are in worse positions than myself and will not be able to get back to a comfortable living position without help from charities and support.

I am doing this skydive to raise as much money as possible to know that if i manage to give even just one person help to start their new life i have taken that little bit of pressure off of them.
