The official Bushfire Appeal for Wildlife Victoria to assist wildlife and wildlife shelters and carers affected by the Victorian bushfires

The Australian Bushfires have wreaked havoc and devastation across many kilometres of Australian bushland. While the impact to humans has been significant, nothing is more helpless and innocent than the local native Australian Wildlife. Here at Newport Lakes Primary School, the school's EarlyAct club decided they NEEDED to support this important cause and want our local community to help.

We have donated $100 to this gofundme and we are hoping YOU will match our $100 donation to support the very important work that Wildlife Victoria are doing to support the animals through this crisis.

Bushfires have been burning in Australian since September of 2019 and have caused widespread devastation. 14 million acres have been burned, 2,500 homes destroyed and a staggering 1 billion animals killed including koalas, kangaroos and endangered species of all types. Heavy rains this week will douse some of the flames but the danger is not over yet and there is a long road to recovery. The Australian government just announced that 113 species will need “urgent help” after their numbers and habitats have been decimated. As an example, Koalas are among those needing “emergency intervention” to support recovery. Miraculously, some Koalas have been rescued and the koala hospitals are overflowing. Rescued Koalas are often suffering from scorched paws that prevent them from climbing trees, severe dehydration and lung and other organ damage. With these fires being so widespread and impacting key areas of animal habitat, now more than ever, every individual animal matters in conservation.


Help is desperately needed and we are asking Informa employees around the globe to give to  Wildlife Victoria (www.wildlifevictoria.org.au/). Funds will be deployed to:

Financially support wildlife shelters in the direct path of the bushfires to care for the influx of animals from the bushfire zones. many of which will need many months of intensive rehabilitation.
Financially support local wildlife rescue groups to rescue and support, feed surviving animals in and around bushfire affected areas
Financially support mobile triage units for animals in fire affected areas across Victoria
Assist with habitat regeneration projects to ensure that rehabilitated animals have somewhere to return to when they are ready to be released.

We are helping to raise money for this important cause, and Informa has generously agreed to a limited matching of funds that are raised by the employees.

Like everyone, we are devastated by the impact of the recent bushfires. In lieu of wedding gifts, we would really appreciate a donation to Wildlife Victoria. Many thanks for your generosity.

The effect of the recent Australian bush fires has been felt far and wide & the team at Sargeants Bellarine and Geelong are rallying to raise a target of $10,000 during the month of February to donate to Wildlife Victoria to assist in supporting their amazing mission to help and protect our Australian wildlife, the most vulnerable victims of these fires.

Summit Cycle: Support for Bushfire Recovery - Wildlife Victoria Inc.

As bushfires continue to devastate our country, the 2019/2020 fire season has been unprecedented. It’s estimated over 1 Billion animals have perished, habitats have been destroyed and 10 million hectares burned, unfortunately this far from over.

To support the immense task ahead in offering aid and recovery to our wildlife, Summit 360 Fitness owner Ryan Jackson and member Taylor (Baz) Hopkins will be tackling a huge 12+ hr, 215km bike ride from our gym in Eltham to Echuca on Saturday 29th February.

All proceeds will go directly to Wildlife Victoria Inc., who are providing financial aid to shelters across the state in rebuilding and rehabilitating animals from bushfire affected areas, assisting with costs of vet care, medical supplies and consumables for many months to come.

We know so many of you have already donated to a number of amazing fundraisers, charities & organisations, but we would love you’re support as the boys set off on this enormous ride for to raise funds for recovery, any donation small or large is extremely appreciated!

We're all aware of the devastation the wildfires have caused across Australia. I'm so proud to see so many people banding together to help support the relief and recovery efforts.

With estimates of more than 500 million animals perishing in the fires, the potential loss of entire Australian species and the enormity of destruction these fires have had on our wildlife, it's clear that we have a long road to recovery ahead of us - and we all need to do a little (or lot!) to help. 

To that end, I will be running in the Buffalo Stampede's 42km SkyMarathon on Sunday 5 April with the goal of raising $10,000 for Wildlife Victoria's Bushfire Appeal.*  The Buffalo Stampede from 3 April to 5 April is part of the internationally prestigious Skyrunning brand that attracts top athletes (not me!!) to the top of the world, "where earth and sky meet". The Stampede Marathon starts and finishes in Bright and covers 42km and 1500 feet of ascents and descents.

Please support me to achieve my goal so we can help contribute to getting our precious native animals back on the road to recovery so they can be enjoyed by future generations.

Donations made to Wildlife Victoria's Bushfire Appeal will be distributed to wildlife shelters and carers to help rebuild enclosures and equipment that they have lost in the fires so that they can continue their lifesaving work, and support those that are struggling to cope with the enormous number of animals that will need care in the coming weeks and months.means so much to me.

Instead of receiving presents for our 8th Birthday this year, we are raising money in aid of Wildlife Victoria Inc. & every donation will help.
We have always been big lovers of animals.  It is so sad to hear of the loss of lives & the amount of injured animals that have lost their homes & have no access to food or water. An estimated 1.25 billion animals lives have been lost. We didn't even know that many animals even existed in Australia!!
Wildlife Victoria gives their donations directly to the shelters & carers to help rebuild enclosures & equipment they have lost in the fires so that they can continue their amazing lifesaving work.

Gippsland is burning in unprecedented fires and everywhere is in desperate need of Help. I am willing to shave my head and my beard if I can raise at least $2000 to help the relief. It's been 5 years since my last proper haircut but I feel it is the least I can do in a time of need.

The state had been declared a state of emergency due to the intensity and severity which incinerated so many beautiful place I have enjoy for my whole life and caused unthinkable amounts of destruction on all of the animals that inhabit the areas. 

Brave and selfless heroes like my brother (pictured with his 2 daughters), who is a CFA volunteer, are working tirelessly around the clock all over Australia to do what they can for complete strangers or even for the wildlife who are helpless against such horrific fires. 

The money we raise will benefit WILDLIFE RESCUE AND REHABILITATION FUND, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
