Monday morning. A kid walks into school carrying the weight of whatever happened over the weekend. There’s nobody to talk to. The counselor has a waitlist. The therapist is 45 minutes away.

Unless there’s a Brain Health and Wellness Coach waiting for them.

That’s what we built. That’s what we’re fighting to keep.

Since 2017, We R H.O.P.E. has been placing Brain Health and Wellness Coaches inside Vermont and New Hampshire schools. Not therapists. Not clinical staff. Coaches, showing up five days a week, sitting with kids, helping them understand how their brain works, build

coping skills, and learn to manage their emotions. At no cost to families.

Nearly 2,000 students have come through our program. The results are real. Kids who were struggling aren’t struggling the same way anymore.

In January 2026, a Medicaid billing regulation changed and wiped out the funding model we had relied on to keep coaches in schools.

We had to pause services temporarily. Our school partners didn’t walk away. They signed contracts to bring the coaches back. And the coaches came back. But those contracts cover the coaches. They don’t cover the rest of what it takes to keep an organization running. That gap is $98,300 and we have weeks to close it before the last day

of school in June.

That is the whole ask. Get us to June.

Every dollar goes directly toward keeping We R H.O.P.E. operational so our Brain Health and

Wellness Coaches can keep showing up for the kids who are counting on them.

We are not asking you to fix everything. We are asking you to help us finish what we started.
