Share The Road is fundraising

WatertownOconomowoc InterurbanTrail
The Watertown/Oconomowoc Interurban Trail fundraising goal is to transform the former electric rail line into a bike and pedestrian trail. The proposal is for a blacktop paved off-road multi-use bike trail that connects Watertown and Oconomowoc. The trail will support people bicycling, walking, and non-motorized recreational purposes. It will offer cyclists the opportunity to ride safely from the northern end of the Glacial River Trail in Watertown east to the shores of Lake Michigan connecting along the way to trails such as the Lake Country Trail in Waukesha County and the Hank Aaron Trail in Milwaukee.
Your generous donations will be used to help fund the installation and construction of 11 miles of trail, which includes 2 bridge crossings.
The project has been divided into 3 phases. There are currently sufficient funds ($500,000) to complete phase 1 which includes 2.26 miles of trail and 1 bridge crossing. Your help will allow the other phases (2,000,000) to be completed so that the entire trail can be put into use.
We have organized a sub-comittee under the non-profit Share The Road organization which is an active 501c3. Please speak with your accountant as to how your donation can be a tax deduction.
