Hello my name is Rory, I recently found out I was very ill thanks to a very clever doctor and was rushed to Bristol Children’s Hospital for emergency brain surgery, at the moment I am missing quite a big piece of my skull which the clever doctors here will be replacing in a few months time.

As a thank you I would like raise as much money as possible, in September, mum, dad and me if I am well enough we will be completing the Grand Walk at Ashton Court in Bristol, please help me raise as much money as possible to help other little boys and girls get better.

UPDATE: we jumped on Saturday 8th November, (4 months later than originally planned). The weather was kind to us and with a lot of courage we have jumped and successfully landed our challenge!

On 5th July, I’ll be putting on my big girl pants and hoping for the best as I take the leap from a plane at 15,000 feet to raise funds and awareness for The Grand Appeal.

Last year, one of our children from Silverwood School received life-saving heart transplant treatment.

This year, one of our wonderful classmates Jaden, is undergoing cancer treatment at the Bristol Children's Hospital. His mum is with him every step of the way, going through the successes and fall backs of the harsh treatment. We need Jaden back for his prom next year (that is what his classmates really wish for).

These children are showing incredible strength and resilience, while their families are facing unimaginable fear and uncertainty. I want to show the same courage and support they do every day, by raising much-needed funds for the Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal charity, which has been a pillar of support for our dear friends.

Every donation makes a tremendous difference and is truly appreciated.

My daughter Harriet was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot on our 20 week scan. She underwent life saving open heart surgery in October 2024 at 6 months old.

Without the nurses, doctors and surgeons at Bristol Children’s Hospital Harriet wouldn’t be here today.

Harriet is now a healthy baby, who will live a normal life and apart from a scar that will always remind us of what we all went through, you wouldn’t know she was born with a heart defect.

Myself and three friends Michael Price, Michael Williams and Morgan Davies will be running/crawling from Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital in Cardiff to Bristol Children’s Hospital on Saturday 30th August 2025 to raise money for the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal.

The run will be 52 miles in distance (two marathons) and we hope to complete it in under 12 hours.

Any donations you make will go to the Bristol Children’s Hospital which saves the lives of babies and children from Wales and the South West of England.

Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal is the only charity that fundraises exclusively for Bristol Children’s hospital and the neonatal intensive care unit at St Michael's Hospital, to provide facilities and comforts for patients and their families.

The Grand Appeal raised £12M towards the new building for the child-friendly hospital, which opened in April 2001. Since then, the charity has funded a wide variety of programmes for patients valued at over £5M including arts, entertainment, education, play and music programmes; equipment; family accommodation facilities; comforts for patients; ward enhancement and new medical facilities in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Hi! I’m Abi, Aoife’s mum, and we’re about to celebrate our baby girl’s very first birthday

As we reflect on this past year, we’re reminded of how fortunate we are to have a healthy, thriving daughter. Instead of birthday presents, we’ve decided to ask our friends and family for a gift that gives back: a donation to Cots for Tots, part of The Grand Appeal charity in Bristol.

Cots for Tots supports the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Michael’s Hospital, where Aoife first entered the world. Though she was born strong and didn’t need NICU care herself, I have always been moved by the dedication of the nurses, doctors, and volunteers who care for the tiniest and most vulnerable babies. From lifesaving equipment to family accommodation and emotional support, Cots for Tots provides critical resources to help families through their most challenging moments.

This year we have had two children benefit from the Wallace & Gromit's Children's Foundation whilst receiving treatment in the BRI. We are raising money by committing to take part in a 15,000 ft skydive. We want to replicate the courage and resilience that we see in ALL our children everyday as they face any barriers they may encounter. Unfortunately the jump was postponed then cancelled due to some sad circumstances. We have rearranged and are now jumping on sat 6th September.

we are doing this because Last year, one of our children from Silverwood School received life-saving heart transplant treatment.

This year, one of our wonderful classmates Jaden, is undergoing cancer treatment at the Bristol Children's Hospital. We all need him back at school for Prom!

These children are showing incredible strength and resilience, while their families are facing unimaginable fear and uncertainty. Vicky’s Grand Appeal Charity Skydive!

On the 5th of July, I be throwing myself out of a perfectly good plane at 15,000 feet – all in the name of an incredible cause: The Grand Appeal.

This charity is close to my heart as one of my students has been helped by this amazing charity, receiving a life saving heart transplant last year. I have seen first-hand the life-changing impact The Grand Appeal has on children and their families during some of their most challenging times.

So, in a moment of questionable judgment (and a lot of courage), I decided to take on this stupidly terrifying challenge to raise money and awareness for a great cause.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help The Grand Appeal continue to provide life-saving care, family support, and groundbreaking medical equipment.

Please support me as I take the leap – literally – to give back to this wonderful charity.
