On Friday February 26th we received a terrible call from our transport company who brings dogs from Louisiana to NJ that one of our pups had become very sick. They made an emergency stop in Georgia where Arrow is being treated now. When transport arrived to NJ it was clear Amora needed immediate medical attention. Over the next 48 hours all but one pup in this litter has fallen ill and one other puppy from transport. Our estimate for their hospitalizations and round the clock care is $30,000.

On January 2, 2019 Wag On Inn took in 4 adorable pups and their mom. These pups had a hard start in life and mom was literally skin and bones. The pups were all boys so of course we named them after the Beatles: John, Paul, Ringo and George. Last week little John quickly became very ill. Foster mom Debbie brought him to the vet but they soon recommended specialized treatment at Red Bank Animal hospital.

Puppy John Lennon quickly declined and it became clear that he was battling the deadly parvo virus. After 24 hrs of the best veterinary care little John was still not improving and we were given the sad option of euthanasia.

Wag On Inn rescue founders Adrienne and Kathy declined euthanasia and insisted on treatment with Fresh Frozen Plasma! It worked!!! We are overjoyed to announce that John Lennon is on the mend and in fact being discharged today from Red Bank Animal hospital!

Saving his little life has a pricetag of about $5500. While this is a huge expense, his beautiful little life is well worth all the hard work it will take to pay off this bill. We are asking for donations to help us pay for puppy John Lennon's care. And we are grateful for Adrienne and Kathy's perseverance in never wanting to give up on an animal in need!

The veterinarians who have cared for her tell us that she is still a puppy, perhaps about a year old. Since she is a rescue we don’t really know for sure but we do know that she has suffered. Cupcake was likely abandoned and certainly abused. X-rays show buckshot in one of her legs. In October she was taken in by volunteers in North Carolina after being hit by a car. Once she was nursed back to health, she was transported to her foster family in New Jersey where she is today.   

Perhaps one of the happiest, sweetest dogs you will ever meet, Cupcake, a popular and frequent guest at the fabulous Wonder Bar Yappy Hour in Asbury Park, walks with a pronounced limp and often whimpers in pain. She has difficulty climbing stairs and can't jump up or down from the bed or furniture. This is due to a recently diagnosed congenital issue with both hind legs. Her immediate need is a surgical procedure to fix her right hind knee and eliminate her pain. She may also need a second surgical procedure, at some point in the future, to correct a similar problem with her left hind knee.

Donations to Wag On Inn have paid for all examinations and x-rays to date but the funds simply do not exist to pay for the surgery. Our goal is to raise enough to pay for the first surgery on her right hind knee and the follow-up care, which is estimated to cost $3,443.00. Chara is another dog in our care requiring orthopedic surgery on her knee and ACL. Chara was rescued from Newark Humane after she was surrendered by her former owner. It soon became clear that Chara was in severe pain due to arthritis, a loose kneecap and a torn ACL. Chara will have surgery with Dr. Thatcher at Squan Animal Hospital to repair her injuries and give this wonderful pup a pain free life.

In order to pay for Cupcake and Chara's surgeries, we must come up with $6,000.
