Hello Everyone,

I'm Sanchay Devnath, a high school junior, and I'm reaching out to you to raise money to sponsor education and provide food for the underprivileged and visually challenged children in rural India.

The funds raised will go to a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, VT Seva (Volunteering Together for Service). VT SEVA is a volunteer-run program that helps provides free food and education to economically backward children along with providing free lodging, clothing, food and education to visually challenged children since 2002. My personal goal is to raise $5000. It's a lofty goal, but I will try my best to achieve it! However, I cannot do it alone - I need your help! There are a few ways you can support my fundraising efforts:

In the summer of 2022, I spent some time at Netra Vidyalaya, the school for the visually challenged in Shamshabad, India. One student I met, Bangaru, dreams of becoming a musician. Another, Sangeeta, wants to be a teacher. Though these students have limited sight, their vision for the future is bright.

Project Hoops-Supporting Children Throughout Asia
Hi, my friends and I are high schoolers from San Jose, CA. We are hosting a 3v3 charity basketball tournament on August 5 at Piedmont Hills High School to help raise money for a non-profit organization, VT SEVA.

VT SEVA is a volunteer-run program that helps rebuild and restructure the underprivileged and underserved communities. Over the past two years, we have raised over $24,000 to provide yearlong meals and education for children in need. This year, we are continuing to help kids in need build a future for themselves by providing them with an education that consists of new books, adequate teachers, and multiple meals daily.

All the money raised from this fundraiser and the 3-on-3 basketball tournament will go towards helping support these kids who do not have access to essential resources.

Hi,

My friends and I are high schoolers from Bay Area. We are helping raise money for a non-profit organization, VT Seva (Volunteering Together for Service) based in the USA with 28 branches in major states. Any donation will help make an impact.

VT SEVA is a volunteer-run program that helps provides free food and education to

economically backward children along with providing free lodging, clothing, food and education to visually challenged children since 2002. Last year, we were able to raise

donations to provide meals for 69 kids living in impoverished areas throughout Asia for an entire year. This year, we are going one step further and helping these kids build a future for themselves by providing them with an education that consists of new books, adequate teachers, and multiple meals daily. All the money raised from this fundraiser will go towards helping support these kids who do not have access to essential resources.

With high inflation, the operating costs have doubled. And due to last years’ slow down in fund raising activities due to the pandemic, the organization is facing shortage of funds. Support Tribal and Visually Challenged Children
My name is Ronav Aviur and I believe in making a positive impact on our community through active service.

For over five years, I have been an active volunteer with VT Seva, a 501(c)3 non profit organization. This summer, through VT Seva, I was selected along with 14 other high schoolers from across North America to travel to rural India to teach underprivileged students at the Jeeyar Gurukulam school of indigenous tribals in Allampally, situated in the middle of the Kawal Tiger Reserve in the forests of Telangana India.

Allampally is a deeply backward, inaccessible village located deep in the forests of Kavval - a Tiger Reserve in the Adilabad district of Telangana, India. It is inhabited by tribals who live in small hamlets known as "thandas". The socio-economic connection of the tribal people living in these areas is dismal due to a lack of basic facilities like drinking water and sewage. Children work hard to earn wages and the tribals live in dire poverty. The Jeeyar Gurukulam provides free food, boarding and education for the children of these villages and contributes immensely to the development of the area.

The internship was a profound and eye-opening experience for me. This experience lit a flame in me and fueled my purpose to support these students in every way possible.

Through VT Seva, I am conducting a fundraiser to raise $2000 to sponsor education and provide food for these underprivileged students. I would greatly appreciate it if you could donate to help reach my goal, and remember that each dollar you donate is going to a great cause.

I wanted to continue to fundraise for VT Seva this year and share my story on why I started running - I was a little hesitant I should, but I convinced myself I should share my story for this right cause and hopefully inspire some of you to run :)

VTSeva - Netra Vidyalaya runs a school for Visually Challenged Students. The cost of education for each student is about $365 per year. VT Seva does a fantastic job in growing these students as strong and well-rounded individuals in several areas, including Education, Sports, Extra Curricular activities like Music, Dance, Chess etc.. It's incredible to see how strong and resilient they are. I am so happy to get an opportunity to donate and fundraise for such a great cause, and I am sure you will be very happy that you did as well. A Few years back, in April 2019, I was diagnosed with Pneumothorax(Collapsed Lung) - Don't know why it happened, but it just happened. I used to play Badminton, and I used to play 3 or 4 games at a time, but I started running out of breath after half a game. I 2thought it was seasonal allergies and waited for 2 or 3 months but finally decided to see the Doctor. When I visited the doctor, she took an x-ray and told me I had to get admitted to the ER immediately. I was admitted to the ER immediately, and they did a procedure to revive the collapsed lung. Tension Pneumothorax is a very serious condition where someone can't even walk or talk when it happens, but luckily with the grace of god, it was not that bad for me. Luckily, with the grace of god and support from my wife, kids and family, I was able to come out of surgery without any complications. After a few weeks, I wanted to run a Half Marathon to prove I am strong and resilient. That was when my cousin introduced me to coach Naveen, and with his selfless support and inspiration I did my first Half Marathon in July 2019 and continued to run after that. Here I am after 6 Marathons, a dozen Half Marathons and a dozen 10k/15k races. Once I started running, I started losing some weight, and that was when Covid Started. Many people in our community started running with us, and the group grew from about five to around 50 people over the last few years.

Thanks a lot, Coach Naveen for your selfless effort and for inspiring us all to run and stay healthy.

Its been a great experience and transformation so far running with a big group of friends . I ran 3 Marathons and about 10 Half Marathons in the last few years

Support for Nethra Vidyalaya Students-VT Seva Det.
Every day, thousands of students are barred from being able to express themselves simply because they have a disability. They live their lives unable to get an education, graduate from college, get a job, or find their passion because they cannot see. Partial blindness affects almost 300 million people in today’s world and the vast multitude of them do not have access to the same opportunities that people with sight have.

VT Seva is working to change this. Starting in India, VT Seva has established three schools (1 school, 1 Junior College, and 1 Degree College) for visually impaired students to have access to quality education, assistive technology, participation in sports, and much more. VT Seva has made it possible for these students to live a life that isn’t defined by their inability to see, but by their ability to dream. With the support of our Nethra Vidyalaya schools, visually impaired students are able to graduate college and join their dream jobs. Nethra Vidyalaya enables students to join the workforce and live their life independently. Trinadh Nekkanti, a Nethra Vidyalaya alumni, has shared his experience and how VT Seva has changed his life. He told us that “Netra enabled [him] to lead a successful, independent life”.

VT Seva supports these students through a variety of fundraising ventures across the United States. In order to educate one child for a year, it only takes a dollar a day. In Detroit, VT Seva raises funds through its annual RAAS event. This year, the VTS Detroit Youth Board has stepped up and come together to raise funds for these students.
