BIRD ROCK GIVES BACK!

After 40 consecutive years of fun-filled parades, the homegrown Beaumont 4th of July Parade is taking a year off due to COVID-19. The parade and 4th of July celebration in Bird Rock have been a staple of the Murfey family since its inception and we are sad to take a pause, but we also see it as an opportunity to reflect and to implement positive change. Like so many other events and experiences, we can’t wait until they come back, but unfortunately, it will have to wait until next year. That being said, we want to use all of the amazing support and community love to give back to an amazing charity, Voices for Children.

Voices For Children transforms the lives of underserved and abused youth in our community by providing them with court-appointed special advocates (CASAs). We are hoping that through our incredible Bird Rock community, we can redirect our 4th of July contributions towards supporting an organization that we believe is truly making a difference in the lives of children. If we want to change the world, we need to start by helping change the lives of those in need.

We appreciate you taking the time to contribute, any amount helps!

Our goal is to raise $10,000. Every $2,500 donated is enough to fund a CASA for 1 year for 1 child.  With our impact we can permanently improve peoples lives who need it most and deserve an equal shot at life.

Voices for Children Vision:

Voices for Children believes that every child deserves a safe and permanent home and, to that end, will provide a trained CASA volunteer to every abused, abandoned, or neglected child who needs one, and advocate to improve the lives of children in the foster care system.

Voices for Children Purposes:

We provide the highest level training, supervision, and continuing education for volunteers in San Diego County and Riverside County who advocate for the best interests of foster children and provide vital information to judges;
We annually review and monitor the case files of every child in foster care in San Diego County;
We increase public awareness about the foster care system; and
We advocate for legal policies and practices that enhance the quality of life for foster children.
