Wyman's Wonders Give Back
https://www.vitfriends.org/ Wyman's Wonders are raising money to benefit Vitfriends Vitiligo Support Group Inc, and any donation will help make an impact.
In Mrs. Wyman's Kindergarten class we talked about what it means when you look and feel different. Mrs. M knows that all too well; we don't want to see other children or adults be ridiculed for the way their skin looks. This conversation wasn't easy, especially now, hoping one day it will be easier, but for now we have much more work to do.
No one should be treated differently because of what color, shape, size you are, and we need to continue to do the powerful work of teaching our children to be accepting, loving and celebrate all of their wonderful differences.
How can our kids get involved?
-Starting the difficult conversations at dinner - talk about the importance of giving and what that means
-Having them do extra chores around the house to fundraise
-Ask your kindergartener to donate a portion of their allowance or other money they might have
-Bake cookies and donate the proceeds of the sales to Vitfriends
-Ask your Kindergartener to call other families members or close friends and explain they are raising money to support greater acceptance of all people
-Have your Kindergartener draw a picture of what acceptance looks like to them and send it to Mrs. M so she can share their message of acceptance
-Have your child take a video talking about what acceptance means to them and send to Mrs. M.
-If you have a skill you are willing to share (such as web / marketing, fundraising, tax, etc.) please reach out to Mrs. M. and see if she can use your support
