About Vista Education Foundation (Vef)
The Vista Education Foundation (VEF) was established to serve as an alternative funding source to generate and distribute human and financial resources to the Vista Unified School District (VUSD) for programs, activites and projects that will support the arts, music, technology, internships and scholarships. The VEF will achieve its mission by directing resources toward the following goals: encourage all students to work at their highest potential and become contributing and responsible citizens in society; recognize teachers for innovative efforts and exemplary teaching; provide funding for activities and projects which support academic excellence; build public awareness and confidence in our schools and involve the community in assuring a quality education for the leaders and workers of tomorrow. The VEF is a 501(3)(c) non-profit tax-exempt philanthropic organization of citizens; sharing a vision of enhancing education in the VUSD; works to increase private support for educational activities in the VUSD; benefits VUSD students and staff personnel by supporting activities not funded by tax dollars; fosters creative approaches to education through private grants and involement and awards foundation funds through a volunteer Board of Directors made up of business, community and educational leaders.
