About Virginia Commemorations, Inc. (Va250)
Established by the General Assembly in 2020, the Virginia American Revolution 250 Commission (VA250) mission is to galvanize a statewide commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the American's independence in Virginia, one of the former colonies and future states, where much of this history took place. Virginia’s history is America’s story! VA250's overarching goals are to (1) educate Virginians, including our students about our history, our founding ideals, and our system of government, (2) engage every community and all regions in events that tell a complete story, and (3) inspire and unite Virginians to commit to American citizenship.
