Officers of the Black Diamond Police Department have grouped together to raise funds for a worthy cause this November. Officers are competing to grow the best and finest in manly facial hair on their upper lips this month, with the goal of raising money for Vine Maple Place.
Each Officer has made a $50 donation for a "grooming standards exemption". They are now asking you to please join them in helping out this worthy cause by donating in the name of your favorite
moustache!
Vine Maple Place utilizes a unique and innovative approach to meet the needs of homeless families. Recognizing that there is a path that leads to homelessness, we strive to meet families wherever they are in their crisis, toxic stress, and trauma. As a team, parents, volunteers, and staff work collaboratively to implement a custom action plan that emphasizes each family members' strengths, assets and
challenges.

About Vine Maple Place
Vine Maple Place serves over 220 children and 130 adults per month and addresses homelessness by offering safety, providing stability, and equipping for self-sufficiency. 91% of families still maintain permanent housing one year after exiting the program.
Vine Maple Place assists families in crisis by helping single parents and their children build lives of hope, stability, and greater economic self-sufficiency. We provide direct support services, which include financial literacy training, employment, and livable-wage development, housing case management, counseling and life skills development, and child and youth services.
We became an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity to serve homeless children and their families in the year 2000 after several Maple Valley churches contributed to the purchase of eight apartments to use as transitional housing. In 2012 we expanded our programs to include offering direct services to single-parent families who are not currently homeless but in imminent danger of losing their housing.
The founding principles of Vine Maple Place remain the same today:
To serve and glorify God
To unite Christians in Maple Valley and the surrounding area
To help those in need, especially homeless single-mother families
To be a witness to the community
Our main service area includes the communities of Maple Valley, Black Diamond, Covington, and connecting parts of Kent, Renton, and Auburn.
