The 14th Annual VRF benefit Team Maisy - Help us bring hope
Maisy Geyer is a wonderfully sassy, sweet, and incredibly brave 4-year-old from Havertown, PA, who is courageously battling B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) which is a rare and aggressive blood and bone marrow cancer.
Despite the immense challenges she faces, Maisy’s bright smile lights up every room she enters. She loves all things princesses, enjoys preschool at St. Dorothy’s, and is happiest playing and making memories with her cousins, 2-year-old brother, 6-year-old sister, and newborn baby brother.
Last November, Maisy's parents, Erin and Michael, noticed a slight limp when she walked and a bump on her head that persisted for more than a month. While these symptoms may not have immediately pointed to cancer, they knew something wasn't right. Concerned, they took Maisy to her pediatrician, who ordered bloodwork and X-rays.
After her bloodwork revealed low blood counts, Maisy was referred to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for further evaluation. At CHOP, doctors conducted additional testing, including new X-rays that revealed an abnormality in her left leg consistent with cancer involvement.
On December 7, 2025, Maisy was diagnosed with B-ALL.
Since her diagnosis, Maisy has already endured numerous lumbar punctures, weekly chemotherapy treatments, and immunotherapy with Blina, administered through a continuous intravenous infusion. Because she has not responded well to several treatment protocols, her medical team has had to adjust her chemotherapy regimen multiple times. Approximately five treatment cycles into her journey, Maisy still faces a lengthy road ahead. Her treatment plan at CHOP is expected to continue for another two years and will include additional chemotherapy, lumbar punctures, and other unpredictable procedures.
Maisy and her family have a long road ahead. The Geyer family is facing significant financial strain from the costs of cancer treatment and care, including increased grocery expenses to ensure Maisy has foods she can tolerate while helping her maintain her weight and strength throughout treatment.
Keeping enough food in the house for Maisy, her siblings, and themselves is something the Geyer family never imagined they would have to worry about. Frequent trips to and from CHOP also bring significant transportation and fuel costs, adding even more stress and anxiety to an already overwhelming situation.
Maisy entered the delayed intensification phase of treatment this past July and the family is now given even greater challenges. Due to the intensity of the chemotherapy regimen, Erin will have to take significant time away from work to care for her daughter. As Erin’s husband is working as much as possible and with young children and a new born at home the Geyer’s are facing tremendous emotional and financial hardship. These burdens will likely continue throughout Maisy's treatment and recovery which is foreseen to be for another 2 ½ years.
Any support provided to this family will help ease some of the pressure they are carrying and allow them to focus on what matters most— Maisy's health and recovery.

The Victoria Rose Fund, Inc. is a small, family-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Pennsylvania that relies solely on the generosity of donors and community partners to carry out our mission. Unlike larger national cancer organizations, our small size allows us to provide personal, direct support to children, young adults, and families facing the overwhelming emotional and financial challenges of a cancer diagnosis.
Our mission is to help those suffering from all aspects of cancer by providing comfort, hope, resources, and financial relief through our various giving programs and community initiatives. Funding support would allow us to continue expanding these programs and reaching more families who desperately need assistance.
One of our most impactful initiatives is our Annual Victoria Rose Fund Benefits. For more than 12 years, we have supported local Delaware County, Philadelphia, and surrounding area families who are struggling with the immense burdens associated with cancer treatment. These community events bring together local businesses, families, friends, and supporters to provide direct financial assistance while surrounding our honorees with compassion, encouragement, and hope. Each benefit serves as a reminder to families that they are supported and that NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE.
