Meet Percy, an incredible horse who has dedicated nearly half a decade of his life to serving our nation's heroes – the U.S. military veterans, active duty service members and their families with therapeutic and educational experiences. Percy's story is one of unwavering dedication, empathy, and support. He has helped over a hundred VETSCT participants navigate the harrowing challenges of post-traumatic stress (PTS), combat trauma, military sexual trauma, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and moral trauma.
Percy's Noble Service:
Percy's journey began when he answered a different kind of call to duty, the call to serve those who had selflessly offered their lives for our country. He stepped into the lives of veterans burdened by the invisible wounds of war by offering them solace, understanding, and a unique bond that only an animal like Percy could provide. Through his gentle presence and intuitive nature, Percy has helped these heroes find hope, healing, and strength to carry on living fulfilling lives.
Though out his service as a horse at Veteran Equine Therapeutic Services, Percy became a steadfast companion, a symbol of unwavering support, and a shoulder to lean on for those who struggled with their inner demons. He carried their emotional burdens with grace and never once asked for recognition or reward. Percy's service was characterized by honor, integrity, and an unspoken understanding of the sacrifices made by these brave men and women.

Our team have found a beautiful retirement home for him right here in Connecticut, where he will have the opportunity to relax, graze in lush pastures, and live out the rest of his days in comfort.
