Valor Village, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is the nation’s first Justice Staytion®— providing free-of-charge, overnight, lodging for military families who have traveled to the central region of Virginia to visit with an incarcerated veteran. Valor Village eliminates the cost of temporary housing so that loved ones, from out-of-town, can be with the veteran for supportive visits. Valor Village provides a safe, private, respite house (Staytion), works to educate about invisible, service-related wounds, and advocates for the expansion of veteran treatment courts. Empowering the critical connections between justice-involved veterans and their loved ones to promote well-being is the non-profit’s mission. Serving the few who’ve served so many is its honor.
