Independent Uyghur journalism is disappearing at a critical moment. Newsrooms have shut down, reporters have been silenced or forced into exile, and credible Uyghur-language reporting has become increasingly rare—just as global attention and accurate information are most needed.

Uyghur News Network’s mission is to preserve, protect, and rebuild independent Uyghur journalism at a moment of critical disruption. Founded by former senior editors and journalists of the Uyghur Service following the closure of the Radio Free Asia Uyghur Service, the organization was created to prevent the loss of professional Uyghur-language reporting—and to stop disinformation from filling the void.
We provide accurate, fact-based journalism on Uyghur human rights, culture, policy, and diaspora communities, guided by internationally recognized journalistic standards. Our goal is to rehire experienced journalists, preserve hard-won institutional knowledge, and rebuild a full Uyghur news service under an independent, nonprofit structure—ensuring Uyghur voices remain visible, credible, and heard.
How Your Donations Are Used and Protected
All funds raised through this campaign are used exclusively to support Uyghur News Network’s nonprofit journalism mission.
Donations are deposited directly into Uyghur News Network’s nonprofit bank accounts and are managed under the oversight of the organization’s Board of Directors. Funds are not handled as personal income and are not used for non-mission purposes.
