Support Our Youth Summer Employment Program at Urban Health Solutions

At Urban Health Solutions, we believe every young person deserves the chance to grow, dream, and thrive—especially during the summer months when too many are left without guidance, structure, or opportunity.

Our annual Youth Employment Summer Program provides teens with a safe, engaging, and meaningful alternative to the streets. In collaboration with a local partner, participants are paid $16–$17 per hour while working on community-based projects, developing outreach skills, and connecting with professionals who align with their interests—be it art, medicine, business, trades, or beyond.

Our teens are eager. One 19-year-old male said, “Please give me this opportunity. I don’t want to be on the streets this summer.” We take that plea seriously.

We will address gun violence, trauma, and community stress, while building confidence and teaching assertiveness, leadership, and hope.

This year, we are also launching a powerful international initiative with a school in Ghana, West Africa, connecting Philadelphia youth with talented students living in hardship. Through video and virtual exchanges, both groups will gain perspective, appreciation, and inspiration from one another’s lives.
