Serving BN & Beyond
If you can donate $5, $10 or more, every bit helps. A $5 donation will provide a nutritious meal, $20 will feed a family of four. Each weekday, we’re purchasing over 1,000 meals from local restaurants. This means we’re supporting area businesses AND families in need. #beatcovid19 #FeedingBNBeyond #FoodInsecurity #ServeOthers
We’ve all come together to address the serious food access issues impacting over 24,000 households right here in our own county. The money we raise in response to COVID-19 is going directly back to the community through meal distribution sites across the county. We have partners of all types — schools, government, businesses, nonprofits, and people like you — who are Feeding BN & Beyond.
To address this need, in just a few short weeks, UWMC has partnered with existing initiatives, brought additional resources to bear, and invested in a few efforts. See below for details.

Here is what's been done, as of April 11:
1) School Food Program Supplementation with a $25,000 investment: leveraging existing food programs in local school districts, which have access to households and will utilize their established communication and distribution infrastructure to quickly identify need and deliver food, sourced from Midwest Food Bank, local grocers & farmers.

2) Rapidly scale grassroots efforts with a $33,000 investment: Expand food provision to the larger community of at-risk families’ in-need. United Way, in collaboration with the Chamber and local restaurants served 5,000 meals week of March 30 through with five partnering organizations and another 6,180 meals week of April 6, partnering with eight organizations.

At this rate, United Way will be investing nearly $50,000 per week in the upcoming weeks. Additional organizations are expected to be added, to serve more families-in-need, week of April 13.

Is your religious center, school, neighborhood association or volunteer group interested in serving as a 'food distribution center'? Feeding BN & Beyond program would love to partner with you. #HelpUsScale#HelpUsServe
