The worst flash flood disaster in Tennessee history hit Waverly, Tennessee on Saturday, August 21 when a record 17 inches of rain fell in less than 20 hours. The flood claimed 20 lives, completely destroyed 120 homes and damaged hundreds more. It also wiped out the softball field, backstop, concession stand, restrooms, equipment left thousands of nails and shards of glass on the playing surface.

As a former Lady Tiger basketball and softball player (WCHS '93), I invite you to join us as we seek to rebuild Waverly Central High School softball facility better than it's ever been and replace all of the equipment and uniforms that were ruined in the floodwaters.

The United Way of Humphreys County has graciously agreed that 100% of all donations made through this GoFundMe page will go directly to the Waverly Central High School softball program.

On August 21, 2021 Dickson and Humphreys County were hit by major flooding, with the town of Waverly receiving the most severe damage. There have been many fatalities with numerous still unaccounted for. Countless families have been displaced from their homes. In an effort to help these families get back on their feet, we are collecting donations for the Untied Way of Humphreys County. Dapper Dent Repair in partnership with Carl’s Collision Center of Dickson will be collecting donations in the form of non perishable food items, new clothing, and toiletry items to be delivered to TEMA and all donations received through this Go Fund Me will go directly to the United Way of Humphreys County. Thank you all in advance for your charitable donations and continue to keep all of the families affected by this travesty in your thoughts and prayers.
