African Link Initiative TED Ed Student Talks Event
5 Black teens from NJ and DC will take the stage to share their most passionate ideas for change at our upcoming African Link Initiative TED Ed Student Talks Event!
Our venue is The Nardi Theater at the Kroc Salvation Army Center in Camden, NJ. We are raising $3,000 to cover event costs (theater, recording/editing help, refreshments, decorations, etc), and $1,000 will go towards our scholars' birthright trips to Ghana in 2022.
We are African Link Initiative (ALI). ALI is an evidence-based identity development program helping teens of African descent transform the way they see their world and their possibilities, by first transforming how they see themselves, and the continent of Africa. ALI has 3 parts and culminates in a birthright trip to Ghana. https://www.africanlink.org/.
In ALI, 6 Black teens from NJ and DC traced their ancestry through our partner, AfricanAncestry.com and will make their birthright journeys to Ghana in 2022. To make this happen, we need to raise $36,000 to cover the cost for those 6 scholars and 2 adult chaperones.
All donations are welcome and deeply appreciated!
