United Way of Greater Houston

Trying to do my bit for those negatively impacted by Covid-19.

I'm doing an Everesting ride, a bike ride where I climb the height of Mt Everest in a single ride. That’s 29,029ft (8,848m) of total elevation gain in a single ride, up and down one hill, no sleeping. It will likely take me 12hrs over 120 miles.

I’m raising money to benefit United Way of Greater Houston, and any donation will help make an impact.

Due to the devasting and extensive flooding to Houston and surrounding areas, this donation site has been created to aid the local community. Donations will help support the United Way of Greater Houston in providing disater victims immediate help with safety, shelter and basic needs such as food and essentials. Additionally, funds will provide long-term recovery services such as case management and minor home repair. I do not work directly with the United Way, I am simply a Houston native trying to boost relief efforts while I am away serving in the military, and this is a way for my family and I to contribute. All funds will be sent daily to the United Way of Greater Houston and this campaign will end on 1 October, 2017. Can You Help Victims of Hurricane ?

We have all seen images of the catastrophe of Hurricane Harvey on television. Many in Houston and the surrounding area are homeless, hungry and need our help. 

Deep Blue Communications and its employees have started this gofundme to collect donations to help those in need. We've set ourselves a goal of $2,500.

All funds will be donated to the United Way of Greater Houston.

As y'all know, Houston has been devastated by the recent hurricane leaving the fourth largest city in our nation underwater.

I am a part of a family owned company in Dallas (Interstate Wire) and we are hearing story after story of families in need from our customers. We ourselves have experienced the horrific impact of these natural disasters when tornadoes ripped through many of our hometowns last year. We are on a mission to help our Houston neighbors!

After pulling together all of the essential items we could donate and speaking with several charities, it is our understanding that cash donations will make the most immediate impact. Item donations take time to deliver, sort & distribute, so we have redirected our efforts and are looking for your help!

As insurance advisors, one of the most rewarding aspects of our job is helping people when a catastrophe hits. We have all witnessed the terrible devastation in the State of Texas. Lives have been lost, families displaced from their homes, and property destroyed. Unfortunately, many homeowners do not have the proper insurance to help them get back on their feet and many will need assistance. It may be months before they see any kind of financial relief. We at PRMS would like to do what we can to help. We will donate 100% of the proceeds to United Way of Greater Houston, a wonderful organization that will be helping with home repairs and replacement. In addition, Howard Milstein has generously agreed to match the first $10,000 collected!

Hurricane Harvey's impact on the city of Houston and the surrounding area is unprecedented. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected by this tragedy.

Stonehenge NYC is raising money to help victims of Hurricane Harvey. All money will go directly to the United Way of Greater Houston Relief Fund. Stonehenge NYC will match all donations dollar for dollar up to $25,000.

As you know, Hurricane Harvey destroyed the Texas Coast and it's predicted that it will drive nearly 30,000 people of the Greater Houston area into shelters. Hearing this and seeing the footage of my fellow Texans in distress, I'm left with the question, how can we help these men, women and children that are left with simply nothing but the clothing on their backs? 

As a resident of Texas, as well as having family affected by the hurricane, this truly hits home for me and I want to help.

While there are several ways to donate to this cause and many charities to support, I wanted to reach out to those that I know to see if we could join together and help raise money for United Way of Greater Houston, which has launched a relief fund for storm-related needs and recovery. The organization says it already maintains a disaster relief fund, but anticipates the needs of Harvey will far exceed those existing resources.

If you choose not to donate here, I ask that you find it in your hearts to find an organization of your choice to donate/volunteer. It's amazing thing what can happen when we all join together as one.
