Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,

We are reaching out with a heartfelt request for assistance during a challenging time for many dedicated commercial drivers. As you may know, the livelihood of CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) holders is often dependent on maintaining their driving privileges. Unfortunately, a significant number of drivers are facing license cancellations or threats of cancellation due to various unforeseen circumstances, including administrative errors, and federal regulatory changes.

The Impact:

When a CDL driver loses their license, through no fault of their own, it affects their ability to work in a sudden and unexpected way; it can create a ripple effect that impacts their families, financial stability, and mental health. Many of these drivers are the primary earners in their households, and the loss of income can lead to anxiety, stress, and an inability to meet basic needs.

How You Can Help:

We are raising funds to support these drivers in their time of need.

Who Will Receive the Funds:

The funds raised through this campaign will be allocated transparently to members of the community who apply and who are determined to be in need.

Specifically, the contributions will be used on first come first serve basis and depending on availability for:

Legal Aid Support: Partnering with nonprofit organizations that provide legal assistance to CDL drivers facing license issues. The designated nonprofit Organization shall receive the funds raised and shall, at its own discretion, distribute all funds in accordance with law, its 501- c- 3 charitable purpose and its policies including, but not limited to:

Legal Assistance: To help contest unfair license cancellations and navigate the complex legal landscape.

Reinstatement Fees: Covering costs associated with regaining their licenses.

Living Expenses: Providing temporary financial relief while they work through these challenges.

As required by the California Attorney General’s office, we want to inform you that:

• All contributions will be used for the stated purposes and will be allocated transparently.

• The campaign organizer will maintain records of all donations and expenditures.

Support Panjab Flood Relief Efforts
We are reaching out to you today with an urgent request for support. The recent devastating floods in Panjab have left numerous cities and villages in a state of utter devastation across the state. To address this crisis, Ik Sansar Foundation has joined forces with UNITED SIKHS to amplify our efforts in providing relief, assistance and resources to the affected communities.

The campaign will be executed in three crucial phases, each focusing on a specific aspect of recovery and rehabilitation.

Phase 1: Immediate Relief

During this phase, our primary goal is to carry out rescue operations and provide emergency relief supplies to affected families and their livestock. We understand the urgent need for food, water, clothing, tents, fodder, and other essential items. Our dedicated teams are working tirelessly to ensure that these basic necessities reach the affected individuals and provide them with a semblance of comfort during this challenging time. Additionally, we are providing ambulatory services, medical care and essential medicines to address the health needs of those impacted by the floods.

Phase 2: Rehabilitation and Rebuilding

Once the initial rescue and relief efforts have been completed, our focus will shift toward rehabilitating the affected communities. We will work towards rebuilding homes that have been destroyed and providing assistance to those who have lost their farm animals. Additionally, we aim to offer urgent monetary aid for miscellaneous needs that arise during the recovery process, helping families get back on their feet. Medical camps will be held to continue to provide education, medicine, and check-ups.

Phase 3: Long-Term Rehabilitation (Project Kirti)

Our commitment extends beyond immediate relief and short-term solutions. Under Project Kirti, we will adopt farms to provide seeds and fertilizers, ensuring a sustainable livelihood for the affected farmers. Furthermore, for people interested in exploring careers outside of farming, we aim to equip individuals with essential resources such as e-rickshaws, food carts, sewing machines, and offer job-ready skills training and certification. Through these efforts, we strive to empower the affected communities with the means to rebuild their lives and secure a brighter future.

Your generous contributions will enable us to carry out these critical phases effectively and make a tangible difference in the lives of those impacted by this disaster. Gursewak Singh's College fund
Gursewak Singh wrote his first letter to Japan's justice minister when he was 10 years old. It has been nearly 8 years and he is still writing. He has written more than 50 letters..... he has yet to get a reply.

The letters, all written in Japanese, have become more eloquent as Gursewak has grown up. But the message is unchanged – a plea to the Japanese authorities to recognize him and his family as residents in a country where he and his younger twin siblings were born and his parents, natives of India, have lived in Japan since the 1990s. His parents are on provisional release status, means they can't work, they don't have health insurance and they need permission to travel outside the prefecture where they live. They are also subject to unannounced inspections by immigration officers at their home and they face detention at any time.

Gursewak has hopes of becoming a web developer and with the help of donations has completed his first year in his dream school, the Digital Hollywood University in Japan, which would not have been possible without your support. His first year at Digital Hollywood University cost about 1,000,000 YEN (or $9,000 USD). Now in his second year we need to raise funds of 1,278,000 YEN ( or $11,500 USD).

Honoring Humanitarian Rishi Singh's Legacy

In recognition of Humanitarian Aid Director for Asia Pacific Rishiwant (“Rishi”) Singh's global humanitarian legacy, UNITED SIKHS created this memorial fund to perpetuate his legacy continuing the humanitarian projects he founded. On Nov. 25, Rishi tragically died in a tragic motorbike accident near Guru Nanak Ashram. He was fatally hit by a truck when he swerved his motorbike to avoid a collision with two children who darted into the street. He was rushed to Government Rajindra Hospital, where he succumbed to his fatal injuries. At age 44, Rishi is survived by his wife and three children.

Known as “The Flying Singh,” Rishi led many humanitarian missions first-hand, overcoming any obstacle by air, land and sea to reach communities in need. In 2016, he was presented with The Star Golden Hearts Awards in recognition of his humanitarian initiatives.

“He is a true humanitarian, a good person who wanted to help people whenever he could,” Rishi’s wife, Malkeet Kaur said.

“Rishi’s spirit to help others will never be forgotten,” said UNITED SIKHS International Aid Director, Gurvinder Singh. “He embodied the true spirit of a sevadaar and inspired many to follow in his brave footsteps to uplift humanity through any crisis. In his honor, we will commemorate his legacy by continuing the humanitarian initiatives he founded in Malaysia and around the world. He indeed was the embodiment of Sava Lakh.”

Rishi and a team of 15 Malaysian nationals were in Panjab to serve at the Guru Nanak Ashram when the tragic accident occurred. To provide assistance with support for the needs of his wife and the education of his children, UNITED SIKHS has established a GoFundMe campaign online. Funds raised will also contribute to the many humanitarian projects that Rishi founded and leaves behind as his legacy.

Rishi's humanitarian projects include:

1. The Malaysian Foodbank Organization -- Serving people of all faiths, Rishi created the food bank to help eradicate hunger
2. Multi-faith Goodwill Walk -- Rishi led multi country walks which aim to feed the homeless, underprivileged and indigenous people
3. Malaysia Humanitarian Relief Missions -- Created to help tribal and underserved families recover from natural disasters year-round. To date, UNITED SIKHS has provided local tribes with 100 tons of relief supplies, including food rations and given medical care to more than a 1,000 Temiar natives, who were stranded since the worst–ever Malaysian floods hit Kelantan in December 2014.
4. Guru Nanak's Kitchen -- Weekly feedings for the homeless and most vulnerable in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Heavy rainfall and excess water release from Pong Dam, Ranjit Sagar Dam, and Harike Pattan have triggered some of the worst flooding Panjab has seen in decades. Entire villages are submerged. Homes have been destroyed. Crops and livestock swept away. Families in Ferozepur, Amritsar, Talwandi, Kotha, Ghuman, Chakkawali, Rampur, Kadiyan, and beyond are left with little more than hope.
