United Moravian Societies (UMS)

Hello or ahoj!

We are the United Moravian Societies (UMS), a Not-for-Profit organization founded in 1939 that promotes Czech, Slovak, and Moravian folklore by teaching the ethnic customs of folk dancing, singing, language, storytelling, and crafting. We are also involved in benevolent work and the observance of memorials.

We’re thrilled to announce that one of our five dance groups, Omladina, has been invited to perform at the prestigious 80th Strážnice International Folklore Festival in the Czech Republic, from June 26th to June 29th, 2025! This incredible invitation fills us with honor and excitement. The chance for our dancers to experience and immerse themselves in such authentic culture is an opportunity they’ll never forget—and it’s truly beyond what we at UMS could have ever imagined!

Which is why we’ve launched this GoFundMe campaign! Our upcoming trip is an incredible opportunity for the 14 talented dancers from the UMS Omladina Dance Group, but it comes with its challenges. Between airfare, housing, transportation, and costume preparations, the costs can quickly add up.

To ensure this experience is as unforgettable as possible for our dancers, we’ll be hosting several fundraising events to cover out-of-pocket expenses and we need your help to make this dream a reality.

Any donation, big or small, will make a huge difference in supporting these young dancers on their journey. Your generosity will not only help cover the trip's costs but will also give these incredible performers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shine.
