Unite for HER

Hi, I am raising money to help the organization of Unite for HER. This organization is here to help women with Breast and Ovarian cancers. This organization relies strictly on donations to help and can not do that without people like you.

I am doing a walk with many of my friends and family on Sept 28 in Westchester, PA for this cause which affects me personally and people that I know.

As many of you know, in February, I lost one of my dearest friends to breast cancer. Watching Mairead face cancer was one of the more deeply humbling experiences of my life - she fought fiercely and bravely, while advocating tirelessly for her community of “breasties,” giving so many others hope and support. During Mairead's treatment, I met Sue Weldon from Unite for HER through a work event and immediately introduced her to Mairead (I remember texting her during the event, which set off some beautiful metaphorical fireworks. Unite for HER's services brought Mairead comfort, and her membership and partnership with them - including a beautiful campaign in the Philadelphia Airport pictured in the campaign - brought her and so many others hope and joy.

Through some twisted logic, after Mairead died I decided that if she could go through something so hard with so much grace, I would run the Philadelphia marathon this November in her honor - something I've always told myself I absolutely cannot do. I'm still not totally clear how I will get from where I am today to running 26.2 miles, but I have faith. And I hope that your donations to Unite for HER will spur me on - just as they provide support, healing, and empowerment to so many others.

Unite for HER's unique and impactful model will be delivered to over 5,300 people with breast and ovarian cancers nation-wide.

Starting on October 1st, Kennett High School Fall Athletics will kick off their Kennett Goes Pink fundraising effort. Each Fall Sports team will contribute to fundraising activities and show their support with "Pink Outs" during their games. All money raised will be contributed to Unite for HER, based in West Chester, PA.
